Written By TropicalVacationsInc

lake nakuru

Please note that this safari can operate on a reverse route.
DAY 1: NAIROBI-LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK- 165 Kms/ 2 ½ hrs
An early morning pick up then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the rift valleys most famous lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight at a budget town hotel |  lodge.

DAY 2: LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA – 340 Km 4-5hrs

An early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, it holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of Wildebeest, Zebras and attendant predators. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight at a budget town hotel |  lodge.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA
After breakfast we have a full day dame drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning’s game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sun birds.
Dinner and overnight at a camp | lodge.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI- 285 Km- 5-6 hrs
We wake up at 6am for a sun rise game drive. At 9am, we drive back to accommodation for brunch then depart for Nairobi. Lunch en-route and arrival in Nairobi at late afternoon.

3 Days Masai Mara Safari

Written By TropicalVacationsInc

masai_mara_lions

DAY 1:-NAIROBI-MASAI MARA -285 Km/ 5½ -6 hrs

7.30 am- Pick up from the hotel of residence or airport, briefed on your safari and proceed to Masai Mara making a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley View Point for photos…

Descending t the Great Rift Valley floor, we reach arguably Kenya’s most celebrated natural attraction-The Masai Mara game reserve. A 1,500 sq. km slab of open Savannah dotted with acacia trees-the Kenyan section of the wildly beautiful Serengeti plains, teems with wildlife. Being in the Mara has been described by some authorities as ‘’ being in the New York of the natural world’’

You will spend the next 02 nights here to explore.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe,
wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

The endless plains of East Africa are the setting of the World’s greatest spectacle-the pounding of over 6 million hooves! From the vast Serengeti plains to the Champagne coloured hills of Kenya’s Masai Mara. Over 1 million wildebeest, 300,000 Thompson gazelles and some 200,000 zebras relentlessly tracked by Africa’s greatest predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in search of green pastures.
This continual perilous trek in search of nature’s big green carpet involves no beginning or end to a wildebeest journey. Its life is an endless pilgrimage, a continual search of food, water and pasture. The only beginning is at birth.

An estimated 400,000 wildebeest calves are born during a six week period early each year-usually between late January and Mid March. As for when to see this annual event, consider December to March (Serengeti) and July to October (Masai Mara)
