3 DAYS FLY IN SAFARI KIHIHI -BUHOMA (ESU-F01)

DAY 1: FLY TO KIHIHI – TRANSFER TO BUHOMA

Today you fly from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi airstrip, in the West of Uganda. You have to find your own way to Entebbe Airport. Make sure you check in 1 hour before your departure time listed on your flight ticket (which we provide). Your flight schedule is as following (please ask you sales consultant the exact time schedule on the date you are flying).

07.00 AM or 07.45 AM

Arrival time in Kihihi:

08.45 AM or 09.30 AM

Afternoon flight option.

Departure time from Entebbe:

12.45 PM or 12.00 PM

Arrival time in Kihihi:

13.55 PM or 14.45 PM.

In Kihihi our representative from Entugga Safari will be waiting for you after you 1 hour 45 minutes flight. He will transfer you in about 1.5 hours from the air strip to Buhoma, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Comfortable cottages have been carefully built, each with its own private verandah, allowing wonderful views of the forest canopy of the National Park. Inside the spacious cottages you will find comfortable beds, a well-appointed en suite bathroom with flushing toilet and a hot shower. An elevated lounge area, complete with bar and dining facilities, offers a cozy, comfortable environment to discuss the day’s activities around the fireplaces which add atmosphere and warmth in the cool evenings. Day 2: Gorilla Tracking.

​

Today is the big day… prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

 As you look for the gorillas, your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Your gorilla tracking will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family.

The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Return to Entebbe

A representative of Buhoma Lodge will take care of your transfer from Buhoma to Kihihi airstrip. Today you will travel back to Entebbe International Airport. Please let us know if you wish us to include one (or more) nights in Kampala /Entebbe or arrange your transport to and from Entebbe Airport with Entugga Safaris.
