You will be picked from your hotel/Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Seremara driver guide and transfer to Wilson Airport for a 45-minute flight over the Rift Valley to Olkiombo Airstrip. You will be met by Basecamp’s Masai guide who will transfer you to the camp. Hop on one of the tailor-made 4×4 Safari Land Cruisers for a safari game drive en-route to Basecamp Masai Mara. Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the most well-known parks in Africa. Almost all the iconic wildlife animals can be viewed here. This is also where the famous wildebeest and zebra migration from Serengeti to Masai Mara takes place between July and October. Along the way, you will have your first encounter with the wildlife Masai Mara has to offer. Look out for the ‘big five’ which include a lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. You will arrive at Basecamp for lunch. Set on the bank of the Talek River Basecamp Masai Mara location is spectacular, with the great Mara plains surrounding the camp and the river in front of each tent. After lunch, you will settle into your tents. Later in the afternoon, you will join your Masai guide for a camp walk along the Talek river path. Your guide will show you some of the operational elements that have made Basecamp one of the leading pioneers in the Responsible Tourism Industry. At around 4pm, stroll across the private suspension bridge to meet your Maasai Guide for your afternoon safari game drive. While you venture out you have a chance to see many animals and beautiful landscape of the Masai Mara. As the sun sets, you will enjoy a classic Basecamp Sundowner under an acacia tree before returning to the lodge for dinner. As you rest around the fireplace, listen to your Maasai Guide tell stories about their culture as you reflect on the experiences of the day.
