ADORABLE ELEPHANTS The Elephant Conservation Center in Kuala Gandah is a base for locating, subduing and translocating our endangered elephants from areas where their habitat has been encroached upon by plantations. The Center educates and creates public awareness to the people and WWF plays a major role in this effort.
ICONIC AND COLORFUL BATU CAVES Climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu Deity Lord Subramaniam who is honored during the Hindu Festival of Thaipusam every year. Devotees give thanks for fulfillment of their vows. Ladies to be properly attired to enter the temple – knees and shoulders covered.
Lunch would be on a Banana Leaf (eat with fingers) an Indian Cultural encounter and a take-home experience. Pass through scenic countryside to Bukit Melawati to be greeted by the Silvered Leaf Monkeys.
SILVERED LEAF MONKEYS Slender, intelligent grey colored – live in social groups and found in coastal mangrove forests in Kuala Selangor. Photo shoot and watch them forage for food. After a frolicking time with the monkeys adjourn to a riverside restaurant for Seafood dinner – fresh from the sea. A complimentary beer is in waiting for each guest.
MESMERIZING FIREFLIES are called Lightning Bugs as they shine brightly at nite to attract a suitable partner. They come out at dusk for feeding, resting and to make love – daily. Their synchronous light flash is produced by a biochemical reaction in their light organs situated on their bottoms. A sight to behold !
EXHILARATING BOAT RIDE AT NITE Watch dazzling fireflies as in a Christmas tree. Silence to prevail !
