Lake Manyara, a small breathtaking National Park with an immense natural richness – home of over 380 bird species, including the thousands of flamingos that tint the soda waters of the Lake pink and the famous tree-climbing lions, which for reasons unknown sleep in the branches of acacia trees.
Day 2: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro crater for full day game drive with picnic lunch, dinner and overnight at simba campsite.
Ngorongoro Crater Conservation: World renowned as a place of absolute wonder, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is dramatically beautiful, and often referred as the 8th world wonder of the world and is the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries.
Day 3: Ngorongoro crater – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast drive to serengeti, game enroute, pm game drive, dinner and overnight at seronera campsite,
Serengeti National Park is one of the best places to go on safari in Africa. Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word ‘siringet’ that means ‘endless plains’. This is a fitting description of the dry and tree-less central plains of the park that continue into western and northern Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It is in these plains that the splendour of Serengeti manifests itself during the rainy season which extends from November to May.
The plains appear to be filled by millions of wildebeest (also called gnu), dispersed in all directions, with pockets of other plains game such as zebra and gazelles, and attending predators and scavengers.
Another spectacle starts towards the end of the dry season, when water and grass become scarce in the open plains. The wildebeest move west, this time in long lines that can appear endless, with one wildebeest galloping after another as though they were being chased. Zebra, other antelopes and some of the predators follow in their footsteps. Such a spectacle is best observed and appreciated from the air.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Full day game drive,on the north of serengeti, lunch, dinner and overnight at Lobo campsite.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron
After breakfast game enroute on the way to Lake Natron arrive for dinner and overnight at Kamakia campsite,
Lake Natron is a saline lake located in Northern Tanzania, close to the Kenyan border, in Tanzania’s Great Rift Valley. The lake is quite shallow, less than three meters (10 feet) deep, and varies in width depending on its water level. Lake Natron is a fascinating, almost surreal location. Due to salt-loving microorganisms that live in the alkali salt crust of the lake’s surface, the lake is often red or pink in colour. The lake is also the only breeding site for 2.5 million Lesser Flamingoes, because the caustic environment is a barrier against predators trying to reach the flamingoes’ nests.
Day 6: Lake Natron – Ol Donyo Lengai
Full day visiting Lake Natron, for flamingo watching, then lunch, dinner and overnight at slope of Ol Donyo Lengai, the Mountain of god, then at midnight you go to summit.
Ol Doinyo Lengai means “Mountain of God” in Massai language. It is a steep around 2900 m high stratovolcano located in a section of the East-African rift valley in northern Tanzania, near the Ngorongongo and Serengeti National parks. The volcano is known for its unique type of natrocarbonatite lava and as such it is the only known active natrocarbonatite volcano on earth.
Day 7: Ol Donyo Lengai
Descend from mountain, breakfast, then drive back to Arusha.
