Day 4 Explore Maasai Mara

Full days spent exploring the park in search of the big 5. The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, abundant and easy to see. Residents among the parks mammals are; Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Topi, both the Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles. Optional hot Air Balloon rides are available on this day at an additional cost. On this final day in the Mara, you also have an opportunity to visit an authentic Masai village. Day 5 Maasai Mara

Another full day in Masai Mara National Park. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Overnight at Mara Seasons Lodge Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6 Masai Mara- Musoma

Early morning departure to Tanzania via Isebania boarder musoma –via sirari boarder point – transfer to Tembo Beach hotel where you will spend the night with evening boat ride in lake Victoria the second largest fresh water lake in the world. Day 7 Lake Victoria -Serengeti national park

After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti national park via Dabaka gate arriving in time for lunch at the Ikoma Tented Camp – lunch at then proceed for evening game drives coming back to the camp late in the evening. Ikoma Tented Camp is set in the midst of incredible scenery of savannah and skies under groves of acacia trees. Ikoma has 35 traditional Meru tents, each under thatch with a private veranda overlooking the impressive plains of the Serengeti. Day 8 Serengeti National park

Departing in the morning, you drive west game viewing through the western corridor of the Serengeti to the Central region of Seronera.

wildebeest in Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park is the Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous.

Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.

The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Day 9 Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater

Day 10 Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara

Proceed to Lake Manyara for a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park which is famous for its tree climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. After lunch, game drives is planned in this beautiful park coming back in the evening at lake Manyara Lodge. Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 11 Lake Manyara – Zanzibar

Pick up from the lodge and drive to Kilimanjaro airport to catch PW 431 departing at 1540 to arrive Zanzibar at 1640 Hrs. On arrival you will be transferred to Ocean Paradise beach hotel or Similar for overnight stay

Day 12 Zanzibar

Spend the day on your own at the beach hotel sun bathing. Visit to the Stone town and spice tours can be arranged.

Day 13 Zanzibar

At 8:30am you are picked up in your hotel and we proceed to the south coast for your dolphin sighting trip. This is a day trip to Kizimkazi, and is a wonderful experience as you may have the opportunity to swim with hundreds of Spinner and Bottle-nose Dolphins playing off Kizimkazi beach.

At 2:30pm we drive to Jozani Forest for a tour to seek out the Red Columbus Monkeys. We also explore this natural tropical forest and the neighboring mangrove forest. Later visit Zala Park to learn on how local people involved creatively in protecting the natural environment. Return to town for dinner and overnight.

Day 14 Zanzibar- Nairobi

Transfer to the airport to catch your Nairobi bound flight connecting with your homebound flight. This ends your 14 Days Kenya Tanzania Adventure Safari.

Day 9 Masai Mara National Park

Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve. Elephant and buffalo abound in the riverine forests, while out on the grasslands Impala and Thompson’s gazelle can be seen together with their attendant predators including lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem and plays host to the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra during the months of July to October. In addition, lesser known species such as Topi, hartebeest, waterbuck eland and many small mammals create a kaleidoscopic picture.

Morning and evening game drives. Weathered domes of granite and gneiss are a favorite retreat of the big cats, a place to rest and to watch the surrounding vegetation for both danger and for prey. Giraffe browse in small groups among the trees. Bohor reed buck and waterbuck restrict their travels to the vegetation near the rivers and streams.

Day 2 David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Orphaned Elephants

Begin your Kenya wildlife safari experience at Daphne Sheldrick’s accomplished Elephant Sanctuary. Admire playful nature of these young elephants and experience a close up encounter with Africa’s giants. We move on to the Langatta Giraffe Sanctuary to see the rare and endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe. After this you will proceed for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. The afternoon is spent at leisure. Day 3 Nairobi – Sweetwaters Wildlife Reserve

After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy arriving in time for lunch at Maiyan Resort. After lunch, you will go for game drive in the Sweet Water’s Reserve, stopping to visit the Rhino Sanctuary in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which has been instrumental in saving the highly endangered Black Rhino. Day 4 Sweetwaters Wildlife Reserve – Lake Nakuru Lodge

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowned for its huge concentration of flamingos and over 460 species of birds. The Lodge has a special activity room for children, well stocked with games such as archery, darts, table tennis, movies and activities to ensure they have a memorable Kenya family holiday. Day 5 Lake Naivasha Lodge

Today we travel to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. In the afternoon we enjoy High Tea at Joy Adamson’s famous Elsamere farm. Joy was a British naturalist and author of the international best seller “Born Free”. The farm house was bought in 1967 and is now a conservation center, focusing on lake ecology and creating environmental awareness. We visit the museum and the nursery on the Elsamere Farm before heading to our lodge for the night. Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6 Lake Naivasha Lodge

In the morning we embark on a boat cruise of the lake, boating along the shimmering surface, searching for hippos and other rare creatures found in the lake. On this afternoon of your Kenya Family Safari you can enjoy a guided nature walk. The lake is a swamp area of spectacular scenery with good opportunities for game viewing and bird watching. Experiencing the natural habitat by foot is probably one of the best ways to get close to nature and submerse yourself in this exciting nature reserve. Day 7 Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, drive south-west to the next destination, the Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge. Masai Mara National Reserve is arguably one of the finest game reserves in Africa. Set out for a late afternoon game drive in the park. A wonderful day to experience the Great Migration of the wildebeest crossing a river in the Masai Mara. The Mara is known for its rolling green plains and riverine woodlands. The jewel in Africa’s crown the Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife. Lion are found in abundance throughout the park, as are elephant, giraffe, a variety of gazelle species and zebra, cheetah and leopard. Day 8 Masai Mara National Reserve

A full day is spent exploring the park on both morning and afternoon game drives. Day 2 Nairobi – Kericho

Depart Nairobi early in the morning for a 9 days luo cultural safari through Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the view point to have a glance at Mt Longonot and the breathe taking escarpment to reach Kericho tea hotel arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be escorted to the Tea Plantations of Kericho.

Kericho is a Tea country which has put Kenya to be the world third largest Tea producer after India and Sri Lanka. There are beautiful rolling hills carpeted in neat, bright green tea bushes as far as you can see. Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 3 Kericho – Kisumu – Kit Mikayi

After breakfast, depart from Kericho via Kisumu city to reach Kenya’s most dramatic archaeological sites, a vast granite rock tower called Kit Mikayi. The legendary story behind Kit Mikayi means the first wife in Luo Tribe.

The site since time immemorial has been a worship place and is usually being used by the Legion Maria sect and you can see the remains of lit up candles in several colors inside the cave. Return to Kisumu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 Kisumu – Kendu Bay Simbi

After breakfast, leave the campsite and drive to Simbi Nyaima Lake. Legend has it that there once existed a community on the site. The village, however, disappeared in a violent storm when residents refused to shelter and feed an old woman who sought refuge there, creating a large depression that formed Lake Simbi Nyaima.

Mythical as it is, geologists say it is a crater lake formed about six centuries ago as a result of earthquakes accompanied by volcanic eruptions. Lake Simbi Nyaima is a seasonal home of migrating flamingos. Simbi Nyaima in the local Luo language means he village that sank. It is actually a crater lake in which the community attaches great importance because of the legendary story surrounding it.

Visit and listen to the heart rending story of the woman who visited this village looking for shelter and food. We will be entertained by the local luo traditional dancers for two days. Dinner and overnight in Homa bay tourist lodge Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner

After breakfast, drive to Thim Lich Ohinga arriving in time for lunch. Its time to know the truth about this great park with the help of a local tour guide. Dinner and overnight in Migori town.

Day 7 Thim Lich Ohinga – Maasai Mara

After breakfast drive to Kilgoris passing through Maize and Sugar plantation, amazing at the beautiful landscape of Nandi and Kipsigis tribes to enter the famous Maasai Mara in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight Mara Seasons Hotel.

Day 8 Masai Mara National Park

Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve. Elephant and buffalo abound in the riverine forests, while out on the grasslands Impala and Thompson’s gazelle can be seen together with their attendant predators including lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal.
