10-Day Uganda Adventure Safari

Safari overview
The trip takes you to visit some of the Most visited sites and national parks in Uganda. This gives you an opportunity to see the Big Five and also the Big sixth animal- the Gorillas. The trip takes you to visit some of the minority groups like the Batwa and also gives you an insight into the different cultures of Uganda- The Pearl of Africa. Uganda is one of the counties that is least visited and thus there is reduced congestion parks allowing one to get the feeling of being in the Wilderness.

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe Airport
On arrival at the airport, our guide will be waiting for you with a company flyer, and he will then drive to transfer you to your hotel which is just 10 Minutes. After checking into your hotel he will brief you about the trip and your next days activities and he will then let you rest.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
At 7am, you will depart your hotel to head onto Gulu Road to transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive from Entebbe to Murchison Falls takes 6 hours. On the way to the park you will visit the Rhino sanctuary to track the rhinos and if it is lunch time, you will have lunch at the rhino camp or proceed to have lunch in Masindi. On arrival into the park you will go visit the top of the falls before retiring to your lodge.

Day 3: Game drives and Boat cruise on the Nile
Before sunrise, you will go for a game drive in the park searching for wildlife. Watch out for animals like lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and many More. Later in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. Watch out for crocodiles, hippos, and many more animals at the shores.

Day 4: Drive to Fort Portal Kibale National Park
At 6 am, you will depart to transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will take 7hrs arriving in the afternoon. This will be a guided drive as you transfer to the park. Please note that you can request to stop should you wish to take pictures or buy something on the way. If you do not wish to transfer by road, we can charter a flight between the two destinations on request.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking Afternoon Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning after breakfast, you will walk to the park headquarters for briefing and then later transfer to the starting point. In groups of 8, you will walk along the different trails searching for chimpanzees. The walk through the forest will be a guided walk giving you a back group and history about the forest and also providing you information about the different flora and fauna you find along the way. Once you meet the chimpanzees you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. Later you will return to the starting point. Proceed to your hotel for lunch before you embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Game Drive and Boat ride on kazinga Channel
Rise-up to the singing birds of Queen Elizabeth National park to go for a game drive in the park. The drive will take 3 hours and then later you will return to the lodge for Lunch. After lunch you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before you embark on the 3 hours afternoon boat cruise on the kazinga channel, that connects lakes George and Edward. On this day, you will have the opportunity to see animals, like the lions, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos and plenty of birds.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi through Ishasha Sector and Visit Batwa
In the morning right after breakfast, you will go for a game drive in the Ishasha sector to spot some tree climbing lions and then later proceed to arrive in the afternoon. Check into your hotel and the later go visit the Batwa pygimies, for an insight into their life styles. Later you will return to yoru lodge to prepare for Gorilla tracking the next day.

Day 8: Gorilla Safari
After an Early breakfast, you will head park headquarters for briefing and then after later in groups of 8 you will transfer to the starting point of the trek. The guided walk through the forest in search for these giant apes is informative and the pace is determined by the slowest person in the group. Walk along the different trails searching for gorillas and on meeting them you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures and then later on return to the starting point where you guide will be waiting for you.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning after an early Breakfasts, you will embark on the 5 hrs drive to transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in the afternoon to have lunch and then later you will go for a sunset boat cruise on Lake Mburo.
Watch out for animals like crocodiles, buffaloes, zebras, and giraffes at the shores.

Day 10: Horse back Ride Later Transfer to Entebbe
Have breakfast and then later go fro a horse back ride in the park. The ride will take 4 hours and then you will retire at your lodge for lunch before you embark on the 4 hour drive back to Entebbe. You will arrive entebbe in the evening and proceed to the airport for onward flight back home.End of Uganda Safari.

Day 1: Welcome to Rwanda
Your driver/guide shall be at Kigali Airport to pick you up from your flight.

Depending on your arrival time you may be able to visit some of Kigali’s craft markets to browse amongst the pottery, carvings, batik, weaving, sculpture, musical instruments, leather and fabrics on offer. Prepare to use your haggling skills! All activities and purchases today are at your own cost.

You will sleep at a comfortable hotel located in a quiet subburb of Kigali.

Day 2: Akagera national park
After a relaxed breakfast, you head to Akagera National Park.

Akagera National Park covers 2500 km² of savannah west of the Kagera River, in the north-east of Rwanda. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Herds of elephant and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while you might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a lion. Giraffe and zebra haunt the savannah, and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park.

You will have lunch (exclusive) and in the afternoon you will go for a long game drive in the national park.

You will stay at the Akagera Game lodge where you will have a nice hot meal in the evening.

Day 3: Boat safari & Genocide memorial
This morning you go for a boat safari on the Akagera River to spot the many waterbirds like Cormorans, Fish eagles and kingfishers. It is then time to head back to Kigali

After lunch you will drive to the Bugesera district, south of Kigali, through a beautiful country-side not often visited by tourists. In the small town Nyamata you will visit a genocide memorial church.

You shall then head back for Kigali where you shall visit the Genocide Memorial in the city centre to learn more about this tragedy.

Day 4: Nyungwe forest national park
Today, you will set off towards the famous Nyungwe Forest, one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa. The forest is abundant with flora and fauna including 13 primate species from colobus monkeys, mangabeys, blue monkeys and, of course, our cousins the chimpanzees. Nyungwe Forest is also a famous location for birders. With about 310 recorded bird species, 26 of which are endemic, this is one of the most important – and still little known – bird-watching destinations in Africa.

In the way you will have lunch in Butare (exclusive).

You’ll be staying at a very nice lodge located on top of a small hill near Nyungwe Forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking
After a very early morning start, you shall proceed to the chimpanzee tracking trail in either the Cyamudongo or Uwinka sections. The total population between the two groups is a healthy 80 individuals. This exciting up-close encounter with human’s closest relative you will not soon forget.

After the chimp tracking you can relax at the lodge or choose an optional activity that you can discuss with your guide.

Day 6: Canopy walk & Waterfall hike
Optional activity
You can choose to go for East Africa’s only canopy walk. This walk takes place above a deep gorge cutting across the massive forest. Lasting about 1½ hours, the walk takes you through some beautiful foliage and animal habitats and you’ll have the chance to spot blue monkeys and unique birds that dwell in the upper levels of the forest canopy.

In the afternoon you will go for the Waterfall hike. This hike takes between 3 and 6 hours round trip, depending upon how frequently you stop to sightsee and whether you choose to drive a little further or walk from the head offices. The first part of the trail is basically following the road to the vehicle park and before delving into the forest.

You will have to cross various streams before making a steep descent to the base of the small, refreshing waterfall. Monkeys are frequently seen along the way and the steep slopes provide excellent views into the canopy.

Day 7: Lake Kivu
After a relaxed breakfast you will travel to Kibuye on the eastern shores of Lake Kivu. Time allowing, you can visit the Ndaba Falls or take a walk around Kibuye town. In the afternoon you can you can rent a boat and visit a few islands. All activities today are at your own cost.

Day 8: Volcanoes National Park
Today you shall drive northeast to the town of Musanze close to the Virunga Volcano range. This beautiful area represents the gateway to the gorilla tracking.

Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge is situated on the edge of the the town. The spacious rooms give you a homely feeling. In the evening, enjoy a camp fire and some entertainment from some local dance groups.

Day 9: Gorilla tracking
Rise early! From the lodge, you drive into the park about 30 minutes to the Office Rwandais du Tourisme et Des Parc Nationaux. The head ranger of the park will divide you into groups based on interest and fitness. You will track the Gorillas of one of the habituated groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

Prepare for an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas.

Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The time taken to track the gorillas can take as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours! Once located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with the gorillas. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Rwanda’s own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.

Day 10: Departure
Today after a relaxed breakfast you will be transferred by your driver/guide back to Kigali in time to catch your flight back home. Sadly, this is where you say goodbye to Rwanda.

9-Day Big Kenya Safari

Safari Overview
A 9 days safari visiting the best of Kenya: Tsavo West (2 nights), Amboseli National Park (2 nights), Lake Nakuru (2 nights) and Maasai Mara (2 nights). All our tours are customizable and we can increase or decrease the number of days, mix accommodation level, etc.

Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West
We depart by road for Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in time for lunch then an optional afernoon or evening game drive. Tsavo west is the most visited section in Tsavo National Park, ofering many attractions apart from its wildlife. The foremost is the famous Mzima Springs where up to 227.3 million liters of cool crystal clear water flows out of the ground through porous volcanic rocks. The water is believed to originate from Chuyulu Hills, via an underground river.

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park
Afer breakfast, we have a full day game drive, packed lunch provided. Other interesting places to visit are the Roaring Rocks, which get their name from the wind that hurtles through them. From here there are wonderful views over Tsavo from the top of a 98m rock face; similar views can be experienced from the poachers lookout. The volcanic Chaimu Crater, less Than 200years old and composed of black coke, is worth visiting and can be climbed if one is intersted. The area is a good place to look out for klipspringer, a small antelope that’s as agile as its swahili name mbuzi mawe(mountain goat). In the south west corner of Tsavo west is Lake Jipe, which has the Kenyan-Tanzanian border running through it.

Day 3: Tsavo West to Amboseli
Early Morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park, check in at your accommodation. Afternoon game drive after lunch.
Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi. Most of the park consist of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park
Left unharassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any Safari.
Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit with packed lunch provided, an optional visit to a Masai village can be planned after breakfast. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area In the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Lef unharassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any Safari.

Day 5: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
An early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, it is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rif Valley lakes. At 1910m (6200f), the water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus (ancient Egyptian once used this to make paper). Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch, herons hide in it while searching for food. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird watching (over 400species have been recorded). It is also a favorite weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who come here to sail, water ski and fish. There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to altitude but there are a number of hippos. Along the lake shore, vineyards produce grapes for the country’s fledging wine industry.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara
An early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, it holds on as one of the few places lef on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of Wildebeest, Zebras and attendant predators. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afernoon game drive.

Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast we have a full day dame drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning’s game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sun birds.

Day 8: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
An early morning pick up then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the rif valleys most famous lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2million flamingoes in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afernoon game drive.

Day 9: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
We wake up at 6am for a sun rise game drive. At 9am, we drive back to accommodation for brunch then depart for Nairobi. Lunch en-route and arrival in Nairobi in time for lunch. Transfer after lunch to hotel or airport.

19-Day Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari

Safari Overview
Welcome to another yet incredible, breath-taking 19 days Safari that traverses Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda borders. In this safari, be assured of beautiful scenaries and variety of wild animals as well as bird species. By the end of this safari, you will have a great view of East Africa as a tourist destination.

Day by Day
Arrival
You’ll be collected from the airport (or hotel).
Accommodation before the tour departs can be arranged for extra cost.

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
The 19 days safari start with a pick-up in your hotel as early as 7:00am after breakfast. Depart Nairobi and drive through central region. You will have an opportunity to stop over at the equator and have a few minutes of demonstration and proceed to Samburu. Arriving in time for lunch at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. Then later afternoon game drive and overnight stay at the Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Explore Samburu
Full day game drive exploring the beautiful and abundant park, home to rarely found species Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue necked Somali ostrich and reticulated Giraffe. Morning spice game drive and visit to the local Samburu village. Accommodation at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdare National Park
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive lower slopes of Mt. Kenya Aberdare ranges arriving at treetops hotel in time for lunch. Relax in the afternoon as you watch game from the balconies of the lodge with optional guide nature walk. Overnight floodlit game viewing.

Day 4: Treetops – Lake Nakuru
Depart after taking breakfast and drive to the floor of the rift valley to Lake Nakuru national park making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson falls, arrive at Lake Nakuru lodge in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in the park as planned for the day.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast in the morning and drive further along the floor of the rift valley to Masai Mara game reserve, one of the famous national reserves in East Africa. Arrive in time for lunch. An afternoon spice game drive and overnight stay at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Park
The whole day spend exploring the amazing highly concentration game park. It’s the finest game reserve in Kenya including migration of wildebeest and zebra from Serengeti. Early morning drive may make you see chetah and leopard hunting for their meals or feeding on their catch. Accommodation at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha
Wake up at around 0600am, proceed for an early game drive until 9:30 am and back for a full breakfast. Check out and head to Lake Naivasha with lunch on the way. Upon arrival check in at Lake Naivasha Country Lodge. Later have a walk along the fresh water lake and boat ride.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli
On this day you will have your breakfast as from 0700-0800am, then check out the room as you proceed for a boat ride in Lake Naivasha, this is one of the experience that will take you to the Hippo pool. You will be able to get good photos and explore the lake once more. Depart the Lake and have en route lunch arriving late in the afternoon in Amboseli. If time allows will go for a short game drive. Check in at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 9: Amboseli
After breakfast proceed for the full day of game viewing in the park. Amboseli National park is located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa highest mountain. You will be able to view the majestic Gentle giants Elephants and other many wild animals. Meals and accommodation at Amboseli Sopa lodge.

Day 10: Amboseli – Arusha
Early morning pre-breakfast spice game drive at 6:30am, when you have the best chance to see Mt. Kilimanjaro. En route game drive as you transverse to the border between Kenya and Tanzania in Namanga, you will go on through migration office and just in case you did not have a visa you can get one at the border. Arrive late afternoon with a drop off in Arusha tourist Inn hotel for dinner.

Day 11: Arusha – Lake Manyara
Early morning breakfast check out of the hotel and then proceed to lake Manyara National, the whole day will be spent exploring the park until 6:30pm, then return for dinner at the camp for overnight. At the park you get to see gazelles, leopard, elephants among other wildlife.

Day 12: Lake Manyara
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National park, dotted with exotic tree such as fig, baobab and Mahogany and its famous tree climbing lions. Also you may be lucky to sport the big cat on its handing mission or while feasting on its night catch. Depart after lunch for Serengeti Seronera camp.

Day 13: Serengeti
Full day in Serengeti on morning and afternoon spice game drives in the rolling grassland with wildlife as far as the eyes can see the park. Here you will have a total interaction with different wildlife including animals and plants as well as bird species. You will have a close range look at lions, elephants, buffalo and many others. Overnight at Serengeti Saronera Camp.

Day 14: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro
A morning game drive in Serengeti, breakfast then depart after lunch for Ngorongoro crater with an en route game drive as we catch last moments of Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive at Ngorongoro in the afternoon for lunch followed with evening game drives. Overnight at Ngorongoro Simba camp.

Day 15: Ngorongoro – Arusha
After breakfast descend into the crater floor with picnic lunch boxes for a comprehensive spice game drive. Enjoy the beautiful scenary and different animals in their natural habitat. Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight as you proceed to Kampala the following morning.

Day 16: Arusha – Kampala
Depart after breakfast and drive to international airport (KIA). Arrive on time to catch your flight to Entebe Uganda. Upon arrival our meet and greet representative will be waiting for you to transfer you to Kampala African hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Kampala – Bwindi
An early morning start from Kampala takes you south west and across the Equator. You drive through savannah grassland seeing Banana plantation and herds of Ankole cattle with incredible long curving horns. Then you ascend into the Kigezi highlands, drive through the gorilla sanctuary and overnight at lake Kitandara camp.

Day 18: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
An early rise being the best time to enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas. After a short briefing by the guides proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals. Permit is subject to availability so client is advised to do early booking to avoid inconveniences.

Day 19: Transfer to Entebbe.
What an incredible safari! We are on the last day of our safari. Rise up early to enjoy last moments at the forest.
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala with en route lunch at lake view hotel in Mbarara, transfer to Entebe or Kampala hotel as you plan for your next destination.
