Day 1 : Negombo
Your chauffeur guide will welcome you at the airport lobby. Short drive to Negombo, one of the best coastal towns of Sri Lanka. Unwind in the beach and take stroll down the negombo town in the evening. Next day early morning you could pay a visit to the fish market as the boats unload the daily catch.
Day 2 : Negombo – Elephant orphanage – Habarana – Sigiriya
After breakfast proceed to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela to pat an elephant! You could see them enjoying their bath and the baby elephants drinking milk.
From Pinnawela proceed to Habarana where you will check into the hotel, maybe take a dip in the pool and in the evening proceed to climb the rock kingdom of Sigiriya.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3 : Habaran – Polonnaruwa
Enjoy a hearty breakfast full of Sri Lankan traditional flavors and get ready to take a village trekking tour to discover the uniqueness of Sri Lankan rural life. Enjoy the surrounding greenery and pay a visit to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in the afternoon and experience the grandeur of Sri Lankan history. And return to the hotel for a evening of relaxation.
Day 4 : Habarana – Dambulla – Kandy
After breakfast drive off to Kandy another must visit attraction in Sri Lanka known for it’s cultural brilliance. Along the way drop by the golden cave temple at Dambulla to admire the ancient wall murals and hundreds of Buddha statues. At Kandy join the devotees of the temple of the tooth relic and end the day with a cultural show that will make your jaws drop.
Day 5 : Kandy – Peradeniya – Nuwara Eliya
In the morning you could visit the Royal botanical gardens, home to a large variety of flora species. Then leave to Nuwara Eliya, the city that boasts of breathtaking mountainous scenery with cascading waterfalls. Also witness the process of tea growing and making in the middle of an emerald green, tea plantation. Tour the city known as the little england of Ceylon and stay overnight.
Day 6 : Nuwara Eliya – Yala
After breakfast visiit the Sitha Amman temple in Sitha Eliya. Where Sita was held captive by Rawana. En route to Yala witness the effortlessly flowing Rawana waterfall. On arrival at Yala, go on a safari ride into the wilderness of Yala national park where you have the opportunity with some luck to observe elephants, leopard, wild boar, deer, peacock and more in their natural habitat.
Day 7 : Yala – Benthota
In the morning continue your journey to Benthota. On the way you can capture the beauty of turtles at Kosgoda turtle hatchery. Also en route discover the Galle fort which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Benthota is one of the most popular beaches in Sri Lanka with many water sporting opportunities.
Day 8 : Beach Rest
At last the time has come for you to spend some lazy time doing nothing but enjoying the beach, sand and wind.
Day 9 : Benthota – Colombo – Airport
Pack your bags to return home. We’ll take you to the airport for your departure. Along the way to the airport, you can enjoy a Colombo city tour depending on the time of you flight home.
