Day: 1 | Location: Toronto – Montreal
Meet your guide and fellow passengers in Toronto and travel along the St Lawrence seaway to Montreal, City of Festivals and the largest French speaking city outside of Europe. En-route we stop for a beautiful cruise of the Thousand Islands. Tonight we’ll explore the vibrant nightlife of this wonderful city. (Thousand Islands boat cruise included).
Day: 2 | Location: Montreal
Enjoy some free time to explore the picturesque city of Montreal, including Mont Royal, the Old City, boutiques, Cathedrals and the cafes and bars. Bring your French dictionary to practice your language skills! (Breakfast included).
Day: 3 | Location: Montreal – Riviere du Loup
Our journey eastward continues as we cross to the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River to our overnight destination of Riviere du Loup or “Wolf River”. Our travels take us along spectacular vistas through small French speaking towns that were founded by Basques fishermen from France over 350 years ago. The St Lawrence River changes from fresh to salt water in this area so watch for seals and other marine animals. Group dinner at hostel tonight and free time this evening. (Breakfast and dinner included)
Day: 4 | Location: Rivière du Loup – Moncton
We cross from Quebec into New Brunswick—the only officially bilingual province in Canada so you can still practice your French language skills! This is the homeland of the Acadians—a warm a friendly people with a proud history and rich culture. Today we see the world’s longest covered bridge as well as Magnetic Hill. (Breakfast included)
Day: 5 | Location: Moncton – Halifax
This morning we start our journey into another eastern province, Nova Scotia! We’ll board a lobster boat cruise and enjoy an incredibly fresh caught lobster lunch. We arrive in Halifax late afternoon and then join our guide for a city walk of this beautiful Maritime city and enjoy dinner and the unique nightlife! (Breakfast included)
Day: 6 | Location: Halifax
Enjoy lots of free time to explore Halifax on foot today, there is plenty to see and do in this maritime city, we recommend taking a tour of the Keith’s Brewery, visiting pier 21 or the Maritime museum of the Atlantic! Then we can head out for a group dinner at a local pub!
Day: 7 | Location: Halifax – Pleasant Bay (Cape Breton)
We’ll meet up with any passengers on our Newfie tour this morning then head towards the incredible region known as the Cape Breton Highlands, which are home to Canada’s Scottish heritage. We will have several breathtaking photo stops en-route and we’ll hike the famous Skyline Trail where we’ll keep our eyes peeled for moose! Tonight we stay in a lovely hostel located on the Cape Breton Road. (Dinner included).
Day: 8 | Location: Pleasant Bay – Baddeck (Bear on the Lake Cape Breton)
Today we continue to explore the Cape Breton region. This morning, you have the option for an additional $50 to do an amazing whale watching tour in the Atlantic Ocean! We continue our drive along the Cabot trail and stop for an easy hike up the Skyline Ridge where the views are spectacular! We spend this evening beside the lake and roast some marshmallows at the campfire! (Dinner included).
Day: 9 | Location: Baddeck – Norris Point
This morning we board the ferry to Newfoundland!! The ferry takes approx. 6 hours, then we drive to Norris Point, a picturesque Newfoundland coastal community located at the doorstep of Gros Morne National Park. Take some free time tonight with friends to explore this small town.
Day: 10 | Location: Gros Morne National Park
Use this free day to take advantage of the many activities available in this relaxing small town. Optional activities include sea kayaking, a boat tour through freshwater fjord carved out by glaciers, or for the more adventurous the famous hike up Gros Morne Mountain where the view is breathtaking. After an amazing day, relax back at the hostel and enjoy a fresh local fish dinner cooked by your guide. (Dinner included).
Day: 11 | Location: Norris Point – Botwood
Spend a beautiful morning hiking in Gros Morne National park before we drive to the town of Botwood. This town is centered around it’s sheltered, deep water port, which is called on by cargo and cruise vessels from all over the world. Depending on the time of year, we may be able to see some magnificent icebergs floating by! Tonight we have a group meal at the hostel (included) and free time in the evening.
Day: 12 | Location: Botwood – Trinity East
Up bright and early this morning, we continue our drive through the Bonavista Peninsula to a small town called Trinity East. We will explore this area by walking the famous Skerwink Trail. On the trail, we will see bedrock layers that are tilted almost 90 degrees on Sherwink Head, and many other dramatic landforms. After a full day of hiking, we will enjoy a relaxing group dinner and evening at the hostel. (Dinner included).
Day: 13 | Location: Trinity East – St. John’s
On our itinerary today is St. Johns, one of North America’s oldest cities. With a variety of annual events and festivals, unique attractions, breathtaking land and seascapes, there’s something for everyone. Join our guide for a city walk and then relax (or party) with some drinks on George Street which is known for it’s many pubs and bars! This is your opportunity to get “Screeched in” at a local pub! (breakfast included)
Day: 14 | Location: St. John’s
Enjoy a free day in St. Johns with your new found Moose friends!
Day: 15 | Location: St. John’s – Ferry
On our way back to the mainland today we’ll take note that this area has the world’s largest puffin colony, the world’s southernmost caribou herd, the oldest continuous permanent settlement in Canada, some of the world’s oldest and rarest marine fossils, and a unique culture that strongly reflects the settlement of Irish immigrants over the past 40 years! We will board the ferry in the early evening for our overnight adventure across the sea!
Day: 16 | Location: Ferry – Moncton
We journey back into New Brunswick today and stop to take a tour of Hopewell Rocks, an amazing area in the Bay of Fundy. This is where you can see and learn about the incredible tidal changes which are some of the largest in the world! Tonight join our guide for a city walk and night out on the town!
Day: 17 | Location: Moncton – Gaspe
This morning we will drive north to the Gaspe Peninsula, a beautiful area that borders the sea and the St. Lawrence River. We will spend this afternoon and evening at a unique hostel called the Seashack, located on the beach with plenty of outdoor activities and a tiki bar! (Breakfast included).
Day: 18 | Location: Gaspe
We’ll spend today exploring Gaspe National park, surrounded by the Chic-Choc and McGerrigle Mountains. The altitude of these mountains deeply influences the climate that moulds the landscape and creates a diversity of species unique to Quebec and even the world! We will enjoy some hiking and perhaps see a moose or caribou, then spend the evening back at the Seashack and have a campfire under the stars or relax in the hot tub! You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a moonlit sea kayak excursion!
Day: 19 | Location: Gaspe – Quebec City
Today we start back towards Quebec City. We have a long drive today, but the destination is well worth the effort. With a quick stop first at Montmorency Falls, which are 1.5 times higher than Niagara Falls, we arrive in Quebec City around dinner time. Quebec City is the only walled city in North America and a spectacular place! Tonight we can enjoy some poutine or crepes to get a taste of local flavor! Bon appétit!
Day: 20 | Location: Quebec City
We take time today to wander the narrow walkways and cobblestone streets, visiting boutiques, museums and cafes. We’ll enjoy another group dinner at our hostel then tonight we can visit a local bar for some live music! (Dinner included).
Day: 21 | Location: Quebec City – Ottawa
We journey into the countryside of “la belle province” today and travel to the capital of Canada, Ottawa. After we check into our one of a kind hostel that is formerly a jail, join our guide for a city walking tour to Parliament Hill and end in the Byward market where we can sit in an outdoor café and soak up the atmosphere.
Day: 22 | Location: Ottawa – Toronto
The last day of our amazing tour! We head to Toronto today, stopping along the way to have a picnic lunch at Sandbanks Provincial Park on one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario! We arrive back in Toronto around 6:00pm at drop you off at your downtown hostel. (Breakfast included).
