This safari presents a rare opportunity to come up close to a Mountain Gorilla within less than seven feet (without any net or barrier) in the dense tropical forest of Bwindi! The safari takes you exploring animal habitats comprised in the wild game parks of Uganda! Your visit to these parks comes with the opportunity to physically experience big cats (lions, cheetahs and leopards), other members of the big five game of Africa (the buffalos, elephants and rhinos), endangered species like pangolins, jackals, foxes and wild dogs, as well as antelopes, bush backs, zebras and a variety of other animals.
Many have described Western Uganda as the Switzerland of Africa! Every moment of the road trip will be a moment of discovery of a new feature! The memory space on your camera should be big enough, as each step may entice you to take a shot! The crafts and the art made by the local communities is awesome! You will be restricted by your budget and the ability to carry!

Day 1-Travel to Murchison Falls National Park with Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
We assume you will arrive in Entebbe/Kampala a day before the start of this thrilling safari! Exploration of Uganda will occupy most of the days of this safari and it will be our first country. We will set off early to explore Uganda and have experience of the natural wonders that make Uganda the pearl of Africa! We will use the first day to travel to Murchison Falls National Park. However, business at Murchison Falls must! We enter Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary first to experience life with the white rhinos. We will be looking out for moments as Rhinos charge and use their prized horns to dig the ground and as well break tree branches. Rhinos are endangered species and not easily found in plenty like at this sanctuary! Brace yourself for this activity and keep your camera close for those moments to take photographs
After tracking the rhinos, we proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, arrive at the planned accommodation facility to relax as we watch antelopes, bush backs and hartebeests grazing.
Day 2 — Exploration of Murchison Falls National Park with an early Game Drive and Boat Cruise to the base of Murchison Falls
You begin your exploration of the park with a game drive in the northern circuit of the park. There you will encounter beautiful rolling plains. While in these plains you may view Lions, Giraffes, Hartebeest, Buffalos, and Elephants, Bushbuck, Spotted hyenas, Wild cats, leopards as well as many of the other mammals of the park. For the birders, this area supports the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow Tailed Bee-Eaters among others.
In the afternoon, you will go for a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls where you will view the Nile as it thunders through a small 7-meter gap down to the delta. This experience is breathtaking and the mighty thunder of the falls should not be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many animal and bird species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and other wildlife that may come down to drink from this mighty river. You may see the prehistoric shoebill, saddle-billed stork and many other birds. Your camera should be with you such that you can keep those magical moments!
Day 3 — Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
Get more of this adventure by travelling to Kibale Forest National Park to conduct yet another core activity of this safari-the tracking of chimpanzees. The distance between Murchison Falls and Kibale Forest is relatively long but we believe that you will approach this safari with positivity and enjoy your adventure! More so travel is a component of great adventure! That bit of strain gives some extra content to define this safari!
Nevertheless, we will have occasional stop overs to watch the natural features along the route. This includes the Rift valley escarpments, the lakes, bird life and the entire village set up!
On arrival, you will instantly start enjoying the natural breeze and beauty of the place and its environs. Pat of the team to welcome you to Kibale Forest will be the Blue monkeys and Black/White colobus monkeys which frequent the surrounding areas to your lodge. Be mindful of the light bags! This team may find use in them and move with the bags to the forest! Relax as you enjoy the sights of the forested area and the sounds from the birds and animals!
Day 4 — Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Brace yourself for an encounter with Man’s closest cousins; the chimpanzees in the forest of Kibale. Get your jungle boots, hats and long sleeved tops on early and join the forest wardens to track chimpanzees!
Your time in the forest will also provide you with more opportunity to observe a variety of other primates (including the Colobus Monkeys and the Mangabey), animals as well as birds and a variety of butterflies, flowers and other insects. Chimpanzees are the closest relatives to humans sharing about 98.7% of their DNA composition with humans. They are sociable, intelligent as well as communicative! Other interesting traits are their abilities to use stones to crush nuts, use empty pods to collect water plus using sticks for capturing termites from their holes. A successful track of the chimpanzees will give you good lessons about primates as well as beautiful lasting memories about Uganda.
After this expedition, you will have lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for yet another memorable highlight of this safari.
Upon arrival, you will relax at your lodge in preparation of the next day’s highlight. In the alternative, you can take an evening walk around the environs of the hotel to do bird watching or meeting with the people.
Day 5 — Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Rise early and set sights on Queen Elizabeth National Park. Through your safari vehicles’ windows, you will enjoy the spectacular views of the splendid Rwenzori Ranges. The drive from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National park describes the distinct natural scenery of East Africa. The weather, the vegetation and the landscape is unique to East Africa!
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax in preparation for the next day’s exploration of the park.
Day 6 — Game drive and Launch cruise on Kazinga channel
You will embark on exploration of the park by conducting a game drive through the tracks of the park. Queen Elizabeth is greatly inhabited by the big five, various primate species as well as over 600 species of birds! You intended to see animals! Exploration of Queen Elizabeth gives you opportunity to spot Elephants, Buffalos, lions, Leopards, Warthogs, Hyenas, water bucks, antelopes and many bird species including Ibis, Fish Eagles and vultures among others that live in this park.
Exploration of the park will be supplemented with an evening boat cruise along the spectacular Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward to Lake George.
The boat ride along the banks will give you an opportunity to see yawning hippos in water and you will see large herds of Uganda kob drinking water with their black and white spiraled horns. You will also be in position to see Nile crocodiles sunbathe on the banks and herds of Elephants and Buffalos drinking water! The channel also attracts several water birds like the Pelicans and the African Fish Eagle. Taking a boat cruise will therefore avail you with a chance to get into close encounter with such animals in addition to enjoying your time.
Day 6 — Game drive and Launch cruise on Kazinga channel
After this fun thrilling expedition, you will relax at your lodge and have dinner before retiring to your respective rooms for overnight.
Day 7 — Cruise to Lake Mutanda in Kisoro
Just like earlier indicated, Uganda is greatly endowed! Get to further attest to this by travelling to Lake Mutanda for yet an amazing encounter with nature! Go past the Kitagata hot springs; an iconic physical feature with an interesting local story attached to it and when you get to Lake Mutanda, laze at the balcony of your lodge as you view the foothills of the Virunga Mountain range as well the three volcanic mountains of Muhabura, Sabinyo and Gahinga.
More to this lake are the several islands which accommodate a variety of animal and plant species which are unique to this area. Beauty and nature cannot best be described than Lake Mutanda and the environs!
Day 8 — Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wild animals may be found elsewhere in the world! However, Gorillas are only endemic to Uganda and some parts of Rwanda and DR Congo! Still, half of the world’s population is in Bwindi-Uganda! You get a great deal when you opt for this Safari to Uganda! You are almost certain that you will see the gorillas when you are in Uganda. Indeed you may not get any clear chance to encounter gorillas in any other place other than Uganda!
Be at your best and join the rest as you go gorilla trekking. This amazing activity is conducted through the densely forested steep hills until you finally meet these tranquil gorillas within the green plant cover. It is such a wonderful and memorable encounter.
Trekking Gorillas is a very interesting activity! It comes with anxiety before you meet the gorillas and when you spot them, you get filled with amazement!
Gorilla trekking groups are assigned on fitness levels. You can request a shorter or longer hike depending on your preferences. For many, the chance to trek in such exotic forest makes a longer hike worthwhile. Others might prefer to meet the gorillas that are closer to the trailhead.
After this fun filled expedition, you will travel back to your lodge for relaxation or for any other preferred activity like walks or bird watching.
Day 9 — Travel to Kigali for a city tour
On this day, we set into the second part of our safari as we travel to the Republic of Rwanda. While on the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the rolling hills that characterize this region. Upon arrival in Kigali city, you will embark on discovering this city by taking a city tour. Particular places expected to be visited will include the Genocide Memorial, the city’s Caplaki Crafts Village and the local markets. Visiting the genocide memorial will give you an insight about the negative consequences related to Africa’s civil wars.
After this adventurous exercise, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10 — Transfer to Kigali International Airport
After having spent a peaceful and comfortable night in Kigali city, we will be heading to Kigali International Airport to enable you catch up with your flight back.
