WHAT TO EXPECT

Gorilla Trekking: This is an active safari with moderate to strenuous hikes during gorilla trekking. Participants must be at least 15 years old, and should be physically fit. While tracking primates, guests will trek through thick jungle at elevations ranging up to 10,000 feet, for as many as eight hours, depending on the location of the primates. Treks can be arduous; and the terrain can be steep, uneven, wet, and muddy. This trip is not suitable for those who suffer from a cardiac, respiratory, or circulatory disorder or a disability that limits mobility.

Giraffe Safaris: Have you ever wondered just how enormous giraffes are in person? Wonder no further for a giraffe safari will satisfy your curiosity! You will be given an opportunity to interact with these galloping giants closely. Considered to be one of the more tame animals in the wild, you will surely find a friend in an African giraffe. Whether you’re visiting them in their habitat or while staying in a manor, this is a chance you shouldn’t miss!

Zebra Safaris: Watch these gentle creatures roam the African soil. Truly in their peaceful element, zebra tours allow you to observe a one of a kind animal. DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day One: Arrival

Arrival at Entebbe Airport where you will be welcomed by a Mushra Travel Agency staff and transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe. Overnight at Lake Victoria Serena Resort (B, L, D). (Accomodation can be downgraded to Midrange or Budget)

Day Two: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, we will drive through Kampala City center en route to Murchison Falls. It’s a long trip; we will make two stops for snacks, lunch and also make a stop at the Rhino Sanctuary. We will get to Murchison Falls late afternoon. Relax and have your lunch with magnificent views of the river Nile. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. Day Three: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, the day starts with a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile to look for lions, elephants, giraffes, hartebeest and different bird species. In the afternoon , a boat cruise on the river Nile for game viewing in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (B-L-D) (Accomodation can be downgraded to Midrange or Budget)

Day Four: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. You will be received by a Mushra Travel Agency representative at the Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale safari tents. (B-L-D) (Accomodation can be downgraded to Midrange or Budget)

Day Five: Kibale Forest National Park

Day 5 starts with exciting chimp trekking. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. You can also opt for the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Chimpanzee Habituation Experience offers you the unique experience spend an entire day with the chimps, follow their daily activities, learn more about their way of life. Day six: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast on day 4, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We drive through beautiful landscapes and see crater lakes. Have lunch at 13:00hr, take a lunch break and go on a game drive in search of the first wildlife; waterbucks and elephants, including warthogs, buffaloes. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. Day Seven: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start the morning with a game drive. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon, a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Watch out for hundreds of bird species that can be sighted , elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. (B-L-D) (Accomodation can be downgraded to Midrange or Budget)

Day Eight: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast , we will transfer to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas, Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs. (B-L-D) (Accomodation can be downgraded to Midrange or Budget)

Day Nine: Gorilla Trekking

This is the best part of your safari: a meeting with the Mountain Gorillas! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs. Day Ten: Bwindi National Park  to Entebbe /  Departure

After breakfast, head back to Kampala driving through Kampala, Mbarara and have lunch at Igongo Cultural Center. (B, L)

CHIMP TREKKING IN KIBALE NATIONAL PARK, UGANDA

SAFARI OVERVIEW

Kibale National Park is top chimpanzee tracking destination in the World. It contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee. Kibale National Park also contains over 375 species of birds. An estimated 500 elephants are present, along with buffalos, leopards, warthogs, bush pigs, golden cats and duikers as well as a colorful variety of over 250 species of butterflies.

Kibale National Forest has one of the highest diversity and concentration of primates in Africa. It is home to other primates that include the red colobus monkey considered Endangered and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey that are considered Vulnerable. The park is also home to over 325 species of birds, 4 wild fellids, 13 species of primates, a total of at least 70 other species of mammals, and over 250 tree species.

You can choose between the half day tracking experience – or a full day chimp habituation adventure. As you search for Kibale’s resident chimpanzees, keep an eye out for other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with l’Hoest’s, red colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys. Our expert guide will share the secrets of the forest’s flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day One: Arrival

Our Driver and Staff (with Mushra Travel Agency Identification), will meet you at Entebbe Airport and drive you to your hotel. You will have time to relax and prepare for the trip to Kibale Forest National Park which starts at 1:00pm the next day. We will drive from Entebbe to Kibale National Park and check in to your lodge, in time for dinner. (First Night at Central Inn Hotel, Entebbe. – Breakfast) and Accommodation at Kibale Forest Camp (Full-board – Lodging, Dinner, Breakfast)

Day Two: Chimpanzee Trekking

After Breakfast, we will go for a full day chimp habituation adventure. Our experienced staff and game rangers will guide you in the search for chimpanzees. The Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale isn’t about chimps alone, keep an eye out for other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with l’Hoest’s, red colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys. The guides will share the secrets of the forest’s flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable. You will return to your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and relax on the camp fire to chat the evening away. Accommodation at Kibale Forest Camp (Full-board – Lodging, Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast)

Day Three: Birding and community walks

After breakfast, proceed to bird the vicinity of Kanyanchu look out for the Green-breasted Pitta and other species like Yellow-billed Barbet, African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spinetail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. Primates like Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, L’Hoest’s Monkey among others. Dinner and overnight as before. Spend the night in a lodge in Budongo Forest.

After lunch, you will visit the Bigodi Women’s Group will take you on a fascinating boardwalk trail through the papyrus swamp of the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Finish this action-packed day with a cultural performance or a sunset drink at a nearby lodge.

Day Four: Birding and Nocturnal Walks

After breakfast, you will proceed to bird the vicinity of Kanyanchu look out for the Green-breasted Pitta and other species like Yellow-billed Barbet, African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spinetail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. Nocturnal Forest Walk in Kibale Forest National Park start between 7:00 and 7:00pm – usually this is after dinner. After a brief orientation from Game Rangers, you will set off onto the trail into the jungle. Please carry a water bottle, boots, long trousers, heavy sock, a jacket to protect you against insect bites and scratches, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and an insect repellent. Look out for Pottos, Bush Babies, Tree Hyrax, birds of the night like Nightjar, Owls and predators such as the Civet. Day Five: Continue the Adventure / Flight

After breakfast, you will transfer to the next destination or drive back to Entebbe through Kampala for your flight.

GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK, UGANDA

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day One: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, we will head to western Uganda for the birding experience in Africa’s No. 1 birding Spot. We stop at the Equator to take photographs of the crossing and enjoy some snacks. We will continue to Mbarara for lunch and coffee in Kabale and then proceed to Bwindi. Overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Full-board – Lodging, Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast)

Day Two: Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, we will head to the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for an orientation plus meeting the guides as well as separation into the groups basing on which gorilla group you are to be tracking.

From there you will set off for your thrilling experience of the Gorillas. Hiking within this mysterious and wonderful forest offers quite a lot to see as you make your way to see the Mountain Gorillas. Look out for additional primates, butterflies, mammals and birds. The trekking will entail thorough climbing before you come face to face with the Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away. You will see the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their every day routine just right in front of you. Airport drop-off can be arranged free of charge, if you are flying out on the last day of the safari. WHAT TO EXPECT

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for its primate populations, being home to about half the world’s mountain gorillas, at over 340 endangered gorillas. It is the home of the famous tree climbing lion as well as the Uganda Kob, other antelope species, elephant, baboons, hippos, buffalo and chimpanzees. Over 600 species of birds have been recorded, making the park a magnet for bird watchers. It is habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.

Uganda is well known for its culture within the East African countries, the history of the country’s kingdoms is now making its own impact on the current tourism industry. This Safari takes you to Kampala top tourist destinations that include Bahai temple which is the only temple in Africa of the Bahai faith, the Uganda Marty’s shrine, a tour of Kampala’s popular Nakasero food Market and Monuments.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day One: Kampala / Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Uganda

We will leave Kampala at 7:00am. Our team will be pick you up from your hotel or preferred location in Kampala and we will drive west toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will make our first stop at the Equator crossing. It’s a wonderful spot to take pictures and have a cup of coffee. We will then proceed to Mbarara for lunch en route to Bwindi. We will have lunch at Acacia Hotel in Mbarara. It’s great opportunity to try out western Uganda’s Matooke (plantain-type bananas) and roasted goat meat. (if not vegetarian) After lunch, we will drive through the virgin rolling hills of Ankole -Kigezi to the home of the infamous Mountain Gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving at around 6 pm. Overnight at Buhoma Haven lodge (Inc. Accommodation, Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner).

Day Two: Gorilla Trekking

Day Three: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have an early breakfast and then travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park entering it through the Ishasha sector renowned for the tree climbing lions. You will have a game drive along the way during which you will see Lions, various Antelope species, Elephants, zebras, Hyenas, Leopards and Buffaloes. In the afternoon, we will go for a two hour boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. The cruise takes you through the highest population of Hippos and you will see a profusion of animals on the water shores. This launch cruise rewards you with a great opportunity to take photos, watch birds and see the water animals. Overnight at Simba Safari Lodge (Inc: Accommodation, Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day Four: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast you will go on an early morning Game Drive on the Kasenyi Track, viewing a large fishing area. The Game Drive will take 2-4 hours. We will also tour Kikorongo, where you will encounter both wet and dry Crater Lakes. We will have another game drive in the afternoon to see Lions, Elephants, Topis, Leopards, Bush bucks, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kobs, among others. Overnight at Simba Safari Lodge (Inc: Accommodation, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day Five: More Game Viewing, Birding and Travel to Kampala

We will go another game drive that will enable you to see wildlife in their natural setting for example buffalo, elephants and other animals that dwell in the grassland thickets of the Northern Kazinga. If we lucky, we might have a rare chance to spot lions prey on other game. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a wonderful birding destination. We will do a round of birding to conclude the safari. A number of bird species will also be seen along including the rare shoe bill. We will drive back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town and proceed to Kampala arriving late afternoon. Drop you off at your hotel in Kampala. Overnight at Aponye (Inc: Accommodation , Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day Six: Kampala City Tour

After breakfast, start with the Uganda museum, Bahai temple which is the only temple in Africa of the Bahai faith. We will have a Lunch break and then visit the Uganda Marty’s shrine at Namugongo. Depending on the time of your flight, we will drive to Entebbe Airport for a quick tour of at Bemba cave in Ziika ecotourism forest site, Zamugula site and Muzinga square site.
