Day 2 Fri: Istanbul | Enjoy a full day tour including a visit to Topkapi Palace Museum, residence of the Ottoman Sultans between 1453–1852 (excluding harem). Visit the Hippodrome, which was once the center of life where chariot racing and other public events took place. Tour the Blue Mosque built between 1609 and 1616, famous for its blue ceramic tiles. Next see St. Sophia, a church built in the 6th century Byzantine capital, converted to a mosque by the Ottomans, and now a museum and one of the world’s greatest architectural wonders. Your last stop will be the famous Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest and oldest covered market with over 60 streets. Join an optional dinner with belly dancing entertainment. B

Day 3 Sat: Gallipoli – Dardanelles – Canakkale | In the morning, depart for Gallipoli, the site of many battles during WWI. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chunuk Bair, then cross the Dardanelles to Canakkale for overnight. B D

Day 4 Sun: Troy – Pergamum – Izmir | Visit Troy with its famous wooden horse, best known for being the setting of the Trojan War and many cities built on top of each other. Before arriving into Asclepion, enjoy lunch with locals in a traditional local village. Then continue to Pergamum to visit the ancient Medical Center in Asclepion and continue to Izmir for overnight. B L D

Take a short drive to see St. Mary’s stone cottage where it is believed Virgin Mary spent her last years accompanied by St. John. Day 6 Tue: Kusadasi – Pamukkale | Drive through lush valleys to Pamukkale, the Cotton Fortress, with white lime cascades formed by hot mineral springs. Visit ruins of the Roman health spa of Hierapolis and enjoy a swim in your hotel’s thermal pool. B D

Day 7 Wed: Pamukkale – Perge – Antalya | In the morning drive to Antalya, arrive midday and pay a visit to the ancient Greek city of Perge, famous for its Temple of Artemis. Also located there is an acropolis dating back to the Bronze Age. It is also notable for being the home of the renowned, ancient Greek mathematician Apollonius. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the Mediterranean Coast. B D

Day 8 Thu: Antalya – Optional Tour of Phaselis or Yacht Cruise | Enjoy a day at leisure. Join an optional tour of Phaselis, an ancient coastal city, or a lazy yacht cruise along the Turquoise Coast of the Mediterranean. Dinner at a special local restaurant.  B D

Day 9 Fri: Antalya – Aspendos – Konya | After breakfast depart for Konya, en route visit the ancient city Aspendos, known for having the best-preserved theater of antiquity. Visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana who was a Sufi philosopher. This was also the dervish lodge of the Mevlevi order, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. Continue to the Karatay Koran School, an 800 year-old building, once a Selcuk Islamic theological seminary, which houses an outstanding collection of ceramics and tiles. Overnight in Konya. B D

Day 10 Sat: Konya – Cappadocia | In the morning, drive to Cappadocia, the land of the fairy chimneys. En route, visit a 13th century caravanserai. Pay a visit to the underground city of Saratli, one of the many underground settlements built for protection and religious reasons. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and join an optional Whirling Dervishes performance. B D

Day 11 Sun: Cappadocia | Consider an optional early morning hot air balloon tour and experience floating through volcanic valleys, fairy chimneys and caves at sunrise. After breakfast visit Goreme, a historical region of Turkey, located among the rock formations, which was first settled back in the Roman period. Many rock churches can still be seen today, as Christianity was then the prevailing religion in that region. Continue to the town of Avanos renowned for its high quality earthenware. Also visit Pasabagi, Red Valley and attend a brief regional pottery workshop in a cave. B D

Day 12 Mon: Cappadocia – Ankara | In the morning, depart for the capital city of Ankara through the salt lake area. Enjoy an afternoon tour of the Ataturk Mausoleum and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, a historic caravanserai holding artifacts from up to 7500 years old including the most extensive and valuable collection of Hittite artifacts in the world. B D

Day 13 Tue: Istanbul | After breakfast, depart on a scenic drive to Istanbul. In the afternoon join an optional half-day Bosphorus cruise enjoying the strait that separates Asia and Europe. Biblical Turkey – Option A – 8 nights / 9 days

Day 1 Sun: Istanbul | Your representative waits to greet you as you land in Istanbul. After transferring to your hotel, welcome briefing.

Day 2 Mon: Istanbul | Your day begins with a guided tour exploring the ancient city with highlights to include: the magnificent Topkapi Palace (main residences of Ottoman Sultans), then walk across the Byzantine Hippodrome that was the scene of chariot races. In the afternoon we visit Saint Sophia Basilica, historic seat of the Byzantine church, built in 537 AD and now a museum whose mosaics, stained glass windows and decorated domes have been crafted to create an environment of breath taking beauty. A short walk through gardens takes us to the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet 1 built in 1616 that is famous for unequalled ceramic tiles. Overnight in Istanbul. B

Day 3 Tue: Pergamum – Thyatira – Smyrna (Izmir) | Early morning flight to Izmir and visit Pergamum (Rev. 2:12–17), and Aesculapiums, then continue to Thyatira (Rev. 2:18–29; Acts 16:14) a city of artisans’ guilds in St. Paul time. For evening we continue to Izmir (Smyrna, Rev 2:8–11) Homer’s birthplace on the Aegean Coast. B D

Day 4 Wed: Ephesus – St. Mary’s House – Izmir | This morning we explore Ephesus with its expansive synthesis of Greco-Roman and Christian remains (Ephesians; Rev 1:11: 2:1–7: Acts 18:19–28: 19:1–4), including the Church of Mary (The Council Church). It was the home of St. Paul between 54 & 57 AD. Nearby we visit Virgin Mary’s house on a wooded hilltop where it was miraculously discovered. In the evening, return to Izmir for overnight and dinner. B D

Day 5 Thu: Sardis – Philadelphia – Pamukkale | After breakfast we visit Sardis with its beautiful gymnasium and marble paved synagogue and the Temple of Artemis including ancient Christian Chapel of the 4th Century. Then continue to Philadelphia (Rev 3:7–13), a favorite city of Paul and John. In the evening, we continue on to Pamukkale, the Cotton Fortress, with white lime cascades formed by hot mineral springs. Visit ruins of the Roman health spa of Hierapolis and enjoy a leisurely bath in the warm mineral waters of your hotel’s thermal pool. B D

Day 6 Fri: Hierapolis – Laodicea – Izmir | Morning visit Hierapolis. This was Philip the Evangelist’s home. We will tour the extensive necropolis, churches and baths then stop at nearby Laodicea (Rev. 3:14–22: Col 2:1: 4:13–16), afternoon continue to Izmir for Overnight and farewell dinner. B D

Day 10 Tue: Antalya | Relax with a free day on the Mediterranean Coast or join an optional tour to the Archeological Museum of Antalya combined with a cruise from the old Roman yacht harbor. Dinner and overnight in Antalya. B D

Day 11 Wed: Myra – Finike – Kalkan | Depart in the morning for Myra. Visit the home church of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) and the ancient city of Myra. Dinner and overnight in Kalkan. B D

Day 12 Thu: Kalkan – Fethiye – Return | In the morning drive to Fethiye and visit the Lycian Tombs. Later, transfer to the Dalaman Airport for an afternoon flight to Istanbul. B

Blue Cruise Extension

Day 12 Fri: Kalkan – Fethiye – Cruise | Depart early for Fethiye to board a gulet at 10:30am. Spend the afternoon visiting beautiful islands and finally hoist near Göcek Island. Following lunch and a swimming break, cruise to Yassica Island to spend the night and cherish the wonderful scenery. B L D

Day 13 Sat: Bedri Rahmi Bay – Domuz Island – Aga Limani | After breakfast, cruise to Bedri Rahmi Bay named after the famous Turkish artist who set voyage on one of the first ‘blue cruises’ in Turkey. Continue to Domuz Island for a swim and anchor in Aga Limani for dinner and overnight. B L D

Day 14 Sun: Kumlubük – Cennet Island – Marmaris | Depart early and enjoy breakfast in Kumlubük Bay. Anchor at Cennet Island for our last swimming break and lunch. Proceed to Marmaris Harbor by 4:00pm. Overnight stay in Marmaris. Guests wishing to see more of Marmaris are recommended to go to the city center and experience the lively nightlife. B L D
