BALKAN HISTORICAL & GOURMET TOUR
Written By Admin
Balkans – the region of contradictions and conflicts. The region where different cultures and religions have been co-existing for centuries, creating a very special enviroment. Dubrovnik, once a small but rich medieval town – state, has for 500 years managed to balance in-between the Venetians, Ottomans and other powerfull empires. Thanks to this fact, besides numerous Roman Catolic churches in the Old Town we also have a Mosque, a Christian Ortodox church, and one of the Oldest Synagogues of Europe.
The power and wealth of Dubrovnik were based on salt production in the Bay of Ston, place which is today famous for shell fish cultivation and wine production.
A completely different world is found only 2.5 hours away, in Bosnia and Hercegovina and it’s town Mostar, famous for the old stone bridge over Neretva river, world of Mosques, old crafts and cuisine based on Oriental flavours.
Furthermore to the South you can visit a third country of the region – a proud state of Montenegro, one of the youngest Balkan states. Gorgeus nature, smoked ham and cheese in the mountains, and good wines….
This tour – package includes cultural and gorment sightseeing of the whole area ( Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Montenegro ) with Dubrovnik as starting and ending point of all tours.
