CAMEROON CULTURAL TOUR“Architecture, Traditions, Culture and Ecotourism”
Written By Raphael KAING-GUI
“Come and discover the architectural and cultural richness of Cameroon”
Most tourists arrive in the Yaoundé and Douala airports, the two biggest in the country before going to their tours in the equatorial forest in the south of Cameroon for a wide landscape and adventure. Here, gorillas and chimpanzees “fight” with the pigmies over the ownership of the forest. The pigmies are considered the oldest inhabitants of Cameroon. In the great equatorial forest, live the Baka pigmies, born musicians. Enter the world of these little men who will perform the Buma ritual dance, which describes their life with the animals in the forest. You wil have the opportunity to participate in their village activities.
The west and north west regions of Cameroon are among the leading regions of cultural tourism. They are well known for their chiefs’ palaces notably the Bandjoun, Bafut, Ndop and Fungon and Bafoussam palaces. The visit to these palaces will lead you to discover the huts, art and bamiliké handicraft. Foumban, where the sultan lives is another traditional tourism environment. For lovers of culture, this is a gold mine with its art and traditions museum, handicraft and markets.
