Getting down the rivers of Madeira is a way to see undiscovered and untouched parts of the island, while revelling in the exciting journey through transparent waters. During summer the northern rivers are the most appropriate, as the flows are high and there is enough white water to create an exciting challenge. During winter, however, we recommend the streams to the south, with gentler, quieter flows. Previously, it was common practice by the mountaineers and goatherds, men who treated cattle by the mountains and had to follow the tracks of goats to keep them together. With the departure of the animals of the mountains, the descents ogajes lost their practical sense, but gained adherents, adventurers who like to combine outdoor adventure. Madeira gathers excellent conditions for the practice of Canyoning, so we invite you to experience this paradise and feel inspired by their beautiful landscapes and its unspoiled nature inserted in the forest that is laurissivla Natural Heritage of UNESCO.
