DAY 1 Sunday, March 3, 13 ARRIVAL
Flight to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina and the administrative, economic and cultural center of the country. The city lies on the Rio de la Plata, the river estuaries of the rivers Paraná and Uruguay River in the Atlantic Ocean, on the east coast of Argentina. The inhabitants of the city are known as “porteños” (harbor residents). Reception at the airport by our partner and transfer to the hotel
DAY 2 Monday, March 4, 2013 BUENOS AIRES Breakfast at the hotel. Afternoon city tour. Buenos Aires is a stylish and modern city full of contrasts. We will visit the “barrios” (neighborhoods) of Palermo and San Telmo. Later on, we visit the historic Playa de Mayo (May Square) with the government buildings, the old Town Hall (Cabildo) and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Next to La Boca, an Italian embossed port district and one of the best known in the city. Because of its brightly colored painted houses became a tourist attraction. Then we will visit the famous street “Caminito”. The tour continues with a visit to the Recoleta, here is the renowned cemetery for graves of many famous celebrities including Evita. Back to the hotel.
DAY 3 Tuesday, March 5, 2013 BUENOS AIRES Breakfast at the hotel. Today we are witnessing a real “Fiesta Gaucha”. This full-day excursion takes us through the Argentine pampas to an “estancia” (farm) and includes a BBQ with drinks. This is the most ideal opportunity to experience the real Argentinean life and a good start in “La Tierra de gauchos”. Lunch with Argentine beef, practically straight from the slaughterhouse, accompanied by Argentine Gaucho Floklore and a show. After dinner a chance to explore the estancia. Return to the hotel. In the evening we go to a restaurant with typical tango show. Back to the Hotel.
DAY 4 Wednesday, March 6, 2013 BUENOS AIRES – USHUAIA Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. Arrival at airport and transfer to hotel. Ushuaia is the most important city in Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego and is known as the “southernmost city in the world.” Located in the southern province of “Tierra del Fuego,” the city is the main starting point for traveling to Antarctica. Ushuaia is a picturesque town, situated on the banks of the “Beagle” channel, surrounded by the mountain chain of the “Martial” in a sheltered cove of unique beauty. The city offers, with the mountains, the sea, glaciers and forests, one in Argentina only-like landscape. The climate in Ushuaia is generally inconsistent. One day can make all the seasons of the place. In summer the temperature is in average of 9.6 degrees on some days the temperature soared to 18 degrees, and in winter the average temperature is about 1 degree Celsius. The rest of the day at leisure. We recommend a train journey on the “Tren del fin del mundo” (train to the end of the world), the journey takes about 1 hour. It’s worth a trip in premium class where you get also a hot meal and drinks. (F)

DAY 5 Thursday, March 7. USHUAIA Reception and boarding the expedition ship Antarctic Dream. The crew will welcome on board and passengers will find their cabins. Check in at the Albatros Hotel in Ushuaia, setting sail at around 19:00 hrs.
DAY 6 – DAY 8 Friday March 8 – Sunday March 10 PASO DRAKE This pass to Antarctica was discovered in the 16th century by Sir Francis Drake; our journey will start today mailing this natural pass. Mailing towards Antarctica, in this biological barrier, the icy waters go under warmer currents of more temperate areas, generating a rich feeding place for the sea fauna.
DAY 9 Monday March 11. ISLA REY JORGE – PENÍNSULA ANTÁRTICA Arrival to King George island, which shelters thousands of penguins, other sea birds and elephant seals. Before proceeding with the expedition, and if weather allows it, we can take an over flight in a helicopter.
DAY 10 Tuesday March 12.2013 PENÍNSULA ANTÁRTICA – BAHÍA NEKO – GOUDIER ISLAND Besides the beautiful scenery, you will be able to admire a Wide variety of wild life among which you will see chainstrap, gentoo and Adelie penguins, seagulls, cormorants and peterls. The area has a great historical interest, since it began to be explored in the 19th century. We will be part of history when disembarking in Neko Bay and setting foot in the Antarctic continent. Later on we will disembark at Goudier island.
DAY 11 Wednesday March 13.2013 PENÍNSULA ANTÁRTICA – CANAL LEMAIRE – PETERMANN ISLAND Sailing in the morning through Le Maire Straight until we arive at Petermann island, where we will disembark to see the southernmost colony of Gentoo and Papua penguins. In the area of Pleneau we will cruise on board of zodiac boats among millenary icebergs to disembark on Peterman islands to get to see local fauna.
DAY 12 Thursday March 14.2013 PENINSULA ANTÁRTICA PARADISE – BAY CUVERVILLE ISLAND Sailing on zodiacs in the morning or a visit to the scientific colony. Visit to Cuverville island in the afternoon, sailing and exploring the canals is the peak of the expedition.
DAY 13 Friday March 15.2013 DECEPCION ISLANDS – WHALER BAY – PENDULUM COVE – HANNAH POINT Deception island is considered one of the southernmost active volcanoes in the world, you will have an unforgettable experience sailing through is narrow entrance towards the flooded crater. Even more exciting will be to take a bath on its shores, while outside it is 0º. Disembarkation in the afternoon on Whaler’s Bay and Pendulum Cove. If weather allows it; we will disembark in Livingstone island, also known as Hannah Point.
DAY 14 Saturday March 16.2013 PASO DRAKE Return to the American continent, saying goodbye to the Antarctic Continent. On board we will attend lectures while crossing Drake’s pasaje, to get to the American continent and Patagonia, sharing experiences.
DAY 15 Sunday March 17.2013 USHUAIA – BUENOS AIRES Arrival to Argentinean territory. After breakfast, we will arrive to Ushuaia, one of the southernmost cities in the world. We will say goodbye to the crew and disembark. We will take on time to the airport for your flight to Nuenos Aires. Recepction by our partner in Argentina and transfer to your hotel.
DAY 16 Monday March 18.2013 BUENOS AIRES – AIRPORT Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure for private activities. You can rest at the hotel or make your last shopping. On time transfer to the Airport for your flight back home. End of our services.
