Islands of Japan – 10% off main tour, 50% off extension

Japan Autumn Wonder, September 2012
This fascinating 11-day journey “off the beaten track” begins on the island of Kyushu, long Japan’s most internationally minded region, and the place where Japan first met the outside world. Kyushu is also home to the samurai tradition, and the historic city of Nagasaki. Mount Aso’s volcanic peak dominates the landscape to the south, and you will visit this eery landscape, as well as the thriving port city of Beppu and its “hells”. You will also visit the little-known island of Shikoku, where pilgrims have walked between the 88 sacred shrines for more than a millennium. Your journey then takes you to the main island of Japan, where you will spend time in Okayama, an important castle stronghold and the setting of a popular Japanese fairy tale about Momotaro, the “peach boy” as well as home to the carefully preserved Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter, giving visitors a glimpse into life during the shogunate. From $4,770 pp twin share.
Book before June 30th to receive our special “two for one” price on the post-tour extension – six days enjoying the traditional city of Kyoto, the spa resort town of Odawara and it’s famous onsen pools, and bustling, crazy, wonderful Tokyo for only $3618 per couple!
