Day 1: Meeting in Milan (Milano)
We meet up in the afternoon at our hotel in Milan and pick up the rental bikes. We all meet up before dinner and get to know each other through a welcome aperitif and a short but important briefing, the time to explain a few simple rules for organizing and synchronizing things, thus ensuring that everyone has a safe holiday that is unforgettable for all the right reasons. Day 2: 310 km
We start our tour crossing region Emilia-Romagna and subsequently the Apennines through the very suggestive Cisa pass before arriving in the charming northern area of Tuscany called Garfagnana with its beautiful natural park and finally reach one of the most enchanting and fine towns in Tuscany: Lucca, Unesco World Heritage site. We have lunch in a typical trattoria on our way whereas you can choose your own restaurant for a romantic and probably exquisite dinner in Lucca. Overnight in 4-star hotel in Lucca; included meals: B,L.
Day 3: 200 km
Two more Unesco World Heritage sites are on our program today and in the middle an enchanting rider’s route up and down on the Tuscan hills. First stop today: Pisa, with its magnificent Renaissance testimonies. After an accurate visit of the world famous Piazza dei Miracoli (Unesco World Heritage site) with the impressive Duomo (cathedral), Baptistery and Leaning Tower, we skip back into the Middle-Ages in the most famous, enthralling little towns of San Gimignano and Volterra, the last one being also the magical setting of our night stay… Overnight in 4-star hotel in Volterra; included meals: B, D.
Day 4: 190 km
A marvelous day tour amid the enchanting scenery of vineyards and medieval burgs that is the symbol par excellence of Tuscany. Gliding through the verdant, gently rolling Tuscan Val d’Orcia (Unesco World Heritage site) and Chianti(shire) countryside, we go and visit, among others, the impressive unroofed San Gargano Abbey and the wine capital Montalcino before we finally reach the splendid Renaissance-styled town of Pienza (Unesco World Heritage). Typical Tuscan lunch included, dine where you please in Pienza. Overnight in 4-star hotel in Pienza; included meals: B, L.
Day 5: 220 km
More vineyard hills await… and another great wine town: Montepulciano. A visit of beautiful Siena could not be missing on our way to Tuscany’s most majestic, romantic and charming town: Florence (Firenze), where we’ll stay for two nights. I can guarantee that if you will be able to surrender to its magic and forget about time and realty, this spellbinding place will transport you back to the time of the Renaissance and the magnificent court of the Medici family… Overnight in 4-star hotel in Florence; included meals: B, D.
Day 6: 240 km
A great ride on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine mountains awaits today together with the visit of two very suggestive, spiritual places hidden in the green of these centenarian forests: a monastery where Saint Francis has spent many years of his life and the Camaldoli Hermitage, both permeated with a stilling peaceful atmosphere that will fill up your spirit. But since our flesh needs nutriment too, a sound mountain lunch based on game and mushrooms shall bring balance between body and mind back. Dine where you please in Florence. Overnight in 4-star hotel in Florence; included meals: B, L.
Day 7: 350 km
The Abetone pass is our route to cross the Apennines and get back to the flat land Emilia where we shall visit the fine town of Modena, last Unesco World Heritage site of the tour. An opulent farewell dinner at the hotel is the only appropriate happy ending we could think of for this great adventure together. Overnight in 4-star hotel in Milan; included meals: B, D.
