Queenstown – It is often referred to as The Adventure Capitol of the World. Scenic drive to Glenorchy, visit Arrowtown, Queenstown sightseeing, visit Kawarau Bridge.

Milford Sound – It is truly spectacular. Visitors are drawn by the spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 meters or more from the sea. Milford Sound Scenic Cruises!

Mt Cook – Mount Cook village and all visitors to the park are dwarfed by the immensity of the landscape that surrounds them. Blue Lakes, Tasman Glacier walk. The azure blue Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo. – Enjoy the peace of this remarkable place and visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before arriving into Christchurch.

Itinerary:

Day1. Auckland – Breathtaking scenery, world-class food and wine, sparkling harbours. Climb a volcano (or we drive to the top), discover your favorite Auckland beach, get inspired by over 15,000 artworks at Auckland Art Gallery (included*), travel up in glass fronted lifts to the spectacular viewing platforms of Sky Tower (optional**$28pp). At 328 metres (1076 ft), Sky Tower the tallest tower in New Zealand with breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction. – It’s all here for you…

 

Day2. Bay of Islands – Enjoy beach and water activities and the original Kiwi bach experience! Swim with dolphins (optional**$95pp) and explore some of the144 islands…

 

Day3. Cape Reinga – Try sand-boarding (included*) and learn about the legends of Cape Reinga (included*). See two oceans collide and experience the scenic wonders of the subtropical Tapotupotu bay, from lush forest to breaking surf and breath-taking views (included*).

 

Day 4. Bay of Islands – (all included!*) Enjoy sea kayaking in the crystal clear Mangrove estuary or in the stunning bays, visiting secret beaches and discovering amazing rock formations. Snorkelling in the pristine water or take a walk on one of the subtropical bush-walks. Scenic drive to Rotoura.

 

Day 5. Rotorua – the place of skyrocketing geysers, hot springs and boiling mud pools. No visit to New Zealand would be complete without stopping here.This city, on the Volcanic Plateau, has one of the world’s most lively fields of geothermal activity and sits squarely on the Pacific Rim of Fire. World class attractions offering geothermal wonders, and uniquely New Zealand Maori cultural experiences. Visit Wai O’Tapu thermal wonderland, New Zealand’s most colorful and diverse geothermal experience! (included*) Drive across the beautiful hills back to Auckland and take the fight to Christchurch – South Island (included*).

 

Day 6. Franz Josef Glacier – The Franz Josef Glacier offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience a dynamic glacial environment, in a temperate environment, while being within easy driving and walking distance from the main highway. (included*) Lakes, rainforests, surging waterfalls and the glacial rivers of ice mean that the area is an adventure and leisure destination that is ready to be explored. The best way to explore is the heli flight! (optional**$225pp) At night take a torch and look out for glow worms. This short walk is highly recommended! It leads through virgin lowland rainforests to visit glow-worms! (included*)

 Day 7. Travel along the beautiful West Coast! Stop over at the most amazing places – 2000 years old swamp-forest, jade hunting on the beach, lush rainforests… The Wild New Zealand West Coast is magical! (included*) Wanaka – The crystal clear waters of lakes and rivers, the fresh mountain air, the stunning alpine views at each turn, nestled below towering mountains, Wanaka is the most tranquilly set of the South Island lakes. Scenic drive to Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka (included*)

 

Day 8. Queenstown – it is often referred to as The Adventure Capitol of the World, with adrenalin-junkies thriving on a myriad of activities, including jet-boating, bungy jumping, rafting, high-country trout fly fishing, paragliding, alpine skiing, mountain climbing and wilderness hiking. (optional** booking and prices on request) Visit Kawarau Bridge – the World home of Bungy! (included*) Est. 1988 All we know is that AJ Hackett Bungy pioneered this crazy adrenalin activity called Bungy Jumping. Visit Arrowtown. (included*) Arrowtown is charming and quirky – a delightful gold rush village filled with rich heritage. Nestled below the beautiful peaks that surround the sparkling Arrow River. The settlement grew quickly as pioneers constructed cottages, shops, hotels and churches, more than 60 of which can still be seen today. A special highlight is the Chinese settlement at the edge of the river. Built by Chinese miners from 1868, this area of restored shelters and buildings paints a picture of earlier times. A sightseeing tour is a must. (included*)

Day 9. Milford Sound – Milford Sound is incredibly grand. It is truly spectacular. Visitors are drawn by the spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 meters or more from the sea, lush rain forests clinging precariously to the cliffs, and the seals, penguins and dolphins that frequent the waters. With 182 days of rain every year, Milford Sound is one of the wettest places in New Zealand however the rain creates stunning treats for visitors with dozens of temporary waterfalls created both at Milford Sound and along the Milford Road.The Milford Road is a stunning alpine drive. Numerous viewing points and short walking opportunities en route, provide a chance to get out of the car and drink in the spectacular scenery and the sheer scale of the landscape. (included*) Milford Sound Scenic Cruises is highly recommended, cruise the full length (15 kilometers!) of the fiord on board one of the spacious, modern vessels. (included!!!*)

 

Day 10. Queenstown – Scenic drive to Glenorchy. (included*) What a spectacular drive! One of the most enjoyable drives touring the country. Drive along the side of Lake Wakatipu to see some truly wonderful scenery. There are several stops and turn off in route like Moke Lake a lovely and unknown location. Moke Lake is just so beautiful and such a quiet and peaceful place with a picturesque views over the isolated lake. Back on the main road enjoy the scenery, half way to Glenorchy we will come to a viewing place called ‘Bennett’s Bluff’. Free evening in Queenstown.

 

Day 11. Mt Cook National Park – Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand, reaching 3,754 metres (12,316 ft). The park contains more than 140 peaks standing over 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) and 72 named glaciers, which cover 40 percent of the park’s 700 square kilometres (170,000 acres). Blue Lakes and Tasman Glacier walk. (included*) The lakes offer good swimming and can be reached by making a side trip off the main track. Walk from the Blue Lakes shelter and meander up to a viewpoint on the moraine wall to see the breathtaking views of the Tasman Glacier and the mountains at the head of the valley. Glacier Kayaking (optional**$145pp) is the ultimate way to experience the magnificence of this world famous national park. At over 750 metres above sea level you can become part of the environment, paddle beneath towering glaciated mountains and view the majestic glaciers and summit of the mighty Aoraki Mount Cook. The trips suit all levels of kayakers from beginners to experienced paddlers.

Day 12. Mt Cook – Christchurch – This morning marvel at Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak. Scenic travel along Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo, sightseeing. (included*) Take a walk at the azure blue Lake Tekapo and enjoy the peace of this remarkable place and visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before arriving into Christchurch. Free evening in Christchurch.
