Day1. Auckland – Breathtaking scenery, world-class food and wine, sparkling harbours. Climb a volcano (or we drive to the top), discover your favorite Auckland beach, get inspired by over 15,000 artworks at Auckland Art Gallery (included*), travel up in glass fronted lifts to the spectacular viewing platforms of Sky Tower (optional**$28pp). At 328 metres (1076 ft), Sky Tower the tallest tower in New Zealand with breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction. – It’s all here for you…
Day2. Bay of Islands – Enjoy beach and water activities and the original Kiwi bach experience! Swim with dolphins (optional**$95pp) and explore some of the144 islands…
Day3. Cape Reinga – Try sand-boarding (included*) and learn about the legends of Cape Reinga (included*). See two oceans collide an experience the scenic wonders of the subtropical Tapotupotu bay, from lush forest to breaking surf and breath-taking views (included*).
Day 4. Bay of Islands – (all included!*) Enjoy sea kayaking in the crystal clear Mangrove estuary or in the stunning bays, visiting secret beaches and discovering amazing rock formations. Snorkelling in the pristine water or take a walk on one of the subtropical bush-walks. Scenic drive to Coromandel.
Day 5. Coromandel – Take a plunge of the pristine beaches and experience Hot Water Beach where you can dig up your own personal spa pool in the sand and lay back with the water fills up and the steam warms the pool (included*). The peninsula is steep and hilly, and is largely covered in temperate rain forest, offering sandy bays, crashing surf and rock strewn shorelines shaded by huge gnarled pohutukawa trees.
Day 6. White Island – The incredible experience of exploring the inner crater of New Zealand’s only active marine volcano, one of the world’s few accessible live volcanoes! (optional**$199pp) Absolutely amazing experience and memory for a lifetime! Or spend a lesaure day in the coastal Tauranga – shopping, swimming, walk up to Mt Manganui, and just relax on the beach. Day 7. Rotorua – the place of skyrocketing geysers, hot springs and boiling mud pools. No visit to New Zealand would be complete without stopping here.This city, on the Volcanic Plateau, has one of the world’s most lively fields of geothermal activity and sits squarely on the Pacific Rim of Fire. World class attractions offering geothermal wonders, and uniquely New Zealand Maori cultural experiences. Day 8. Travel across the beautiful hills back to Auckland and take the fight to Nelson – South Island (included*). The fight passing the volcanic peak of Mt Taranaki. Nelson is the sunniest city in New Zealand. Perhaps it’s the sun, perhaps it’s the location, but Nelson has long been a magnet for creative people. There are more than 350 working artists and living in Nelson, traditional, contemporary and Maori. Visit their studios and find a unique piece to take home with you. (included*)
Day 9. Kaikoura – Few places in the world can boast of such natural wonders as those offered by land and sea in Kaikoura. Just stop by the road or walk down the beach and say hello to New Zealand fur seals, take a few photos of them in their natural habitat. (included*) Kaikoura offers the chance to watch whales, dolphins, sea-birds and many other species of marine life on a daily basis; by boat and by land. With wetsuits provided, visitors can even join dolphins and seals in the ocean (optional**$170pp). Or go whale watching with 80-95% success to see whales! Day 10. Abel Tasman – Enjoy the finest coastal National Park in the country. Abel Tasman National Park has a mild climate and is a good place to visit at any time of the year. Take a walk on the world-famous Abel Tasman Coast Track. (included*) If you are enjoying Sea Kayaking, Abel Tasman National Park is the place to do it again. (optional**$130pp) With a sheltered coastline, protected marine reserve, calm crystal-clear waters and stunning scenery, a sea kayak trip is sure to become one of your most memorable experiences. Day 11. Golden Bay – Before you lay eyes on Golden Bay, you’ll enjoy an amazingly scenic road journey. In this hidden corner of New Zealand you will experience many scenic contrasts; from smooth shifting sand dunes to rugged glaciated mountain valleys; from pristine seaside beaches to bubbling fresh water springs; from untouched high alpine meadows and forests to water-worn limestone caves, canyons and coastal cliffs. Feel the thrill – catch your own salmon! Anatoki Salmon Fishing & Cafe situated on the banks of the Anatoki River with a tranquil backdrop of native bush, you can relax and enjoy this unique experience. Entry is free, use of fishing rods and tackle is free, and we pay for the first 3 fish/group! We prepare your fish and hot smoking is available (ten minutes). Go for the catch of the day! Day 12. Punakaiki – it is best known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes – both of which are spectacular and a must-see when visiting the West Coast. Punakaiki is the centre for the Paparoa National Park – 30,000 ha of varied landscape from lush West Coast native rainforest and mountain tops, to expansive rugged beaches and coastline. Walk one of the many sub-tropical rainforest and coastal tracks. Explore one of the many unspoilt deserted beaches. (included*)
Day 13. Franz Josef Glacier – The Franz Josef Glacier offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience a dynamic glacial environment, in a temperate environment, while being within easy driving and walking distance from the main highway. (included*) Lakes, rainforests, surging waterfalls and the glacial rivers of ice mean that the area is an adventure and leisure destination that is ready to be explored. The best way to explore is the heli flight! (optional**$225pp) At night take a torch and look out for glow worms. This short walk is highly recommended! It leads through virgin lowland rainforests to visit glow-worms! (included*)
Day 14. Travel along the beautiful West Coast! Stop over at the most amazing places – 2000 years old swamp-forest, jade hunting on the beach, lush rainforests… The Wild New Zealand West Coast is magical! (included*) Wanaka – The crystal clear waters of lakes and rivers, the fresh mountain air, the stunning alpine views at each turn, nestled below towering mountains, Wanaka is the most tranquilly set of the South Island lakes. Scenic drive to Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka (included*)
Day 15. Queenstown – it is often referred to as The Adventure Capitol of the World, with adrenalin-junkies thriving on a myriad of activities, including jet-boating, bungy jumping, rafting, high-country trout fly fishing, paragliding, alpine skiing, mountain climbing and wilderness hiking. (optional** booking and prices on request) Visit Kawarau Bridge – the World home of Bungy! (included*) Est. 1988 All we know is that AJ Hackett Bungy pioneered this crazy adrenalin activity called Bungy Jumping. Visit Arrowtown. (included*) Arrowtown is charming and quirky – a delightful gold rush village filled with rich heritage. Nestled below the beautiful peaks that surround the sparkling Arrow River. The settlement grew quickly as pioneers constructed cottages, shops, hotels and churches, more than 60 of which can still be seen today. A special highlight is the Chinese settlement at the edge of the river. Built by Chinese miners from 1868, this area of restored shelters and buildings paints a picture of earlier times. A sightseeing tour is a must. (included*)
Day 16. Milford Sound – Milford Sound is incredibly grand. It is truly spectacular. Visitors are drawn by the spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 meters or more from the sea, lush rain forests clinging precariously to the cliffs, and the seals, penguins and dolphins that frequent the waters. With 182 days of rain every year, Milford Sound is one of the wettest places in New Zealand however the rain creates stunning treats for visitors with dozens of temporary waterfalls created both at Milford Sound and along the Milford Road.The Milford Road is a stunning alpine drive. Numerous viewing points and short walking opportunities en route, provide a chance to get out of the car and drink in the spectacular scenery and the sheer scale of the landscape. (included*) Milford Sound Scenic Cruises is highly recommended, cruise the full length (15 kilometers!) of the fiord on board one of the spacious, modern vessels. (included!!!*)
Day 17-18. Catlins Catlins (all activities are included*) – The Catlins is an amazing “lost world” . It is rugged, remote and endowed with large tracts of native rainforest. It has abundant wildlife, is sparsely populated and is very scenic and unspoilt. Here, close to the richSub-Antarctic feeding grounds, can be found some of the world’s rarest marine animals – also are the seabirds: Mollymawks, Shags, Gannets and millions of Titi. Varieties of sea birds are prolific and you may see (but must hear!) the forest-dwelling birds tui, bell-bird, fantail, native pigeon and the rare mohua. You may also be fortunate enough to observe yellow-eyed penguins. “Hunting” for New Zealand sea lion, fur seal and the Hector’s dolphin!
Day 19. Dunedin-Twizel – Visit Larnach Castle built 1871 and Glenfalloch Woodland Garden where nature reigns supreme. Glenfalloch Woodland Garden, Gaelic for ‘hidden valley’ is an historical garden, established from 1871 – tranquil, beautiful, much loved and classified as a Garden of National Significance by the NZ Gardens Trust. Enjoy the peace and tranquility and the panoramic harbour views; listen to the ripple of Russell Creek and the harmony of a native bird-life symphony. Walk among the rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, fuchsias and a profusion of other flower species which integrate with native ferns, exotic imports and indigenous New Zealand trees. Meet a 1000 year old Matai Tree.
Day 20. Twizel-Christchurch – This morning marvel at Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak. Scenic travel along Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo, sightseeing. (included*) Take a walk at the azure blue Lake Tekapo and enjoy the peace of this remarkable place and visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before arriving into Christchurch. Free evening in Christchurch.
