Puglia is best known for its typical cuisine and for the rich variety of its territory. You will attend hands on Mediterranean cooking classes and learn the secrets of an ancient Mediterranean cooking which is not only healthy but also one of the most delicious in the world. You will learn about a cookery method which is very simple and based on extra virgin olive oil that has the ability to make you 20 years younger, as scientists say.

We can offer this service to single travellers, large groups, couples, as well as special packages for large organisations and also companies. We tailor all of our tours to suit our clients specific requirements and we can also personalise wine and gastronomic tours.

Every day of our tour is dedicated to a star of the culinary tradition combined with an unmissable jewel of the territory.

Bread, pasta, orecchiette, pizza, focacce, panzerotti, cheese, burrata, mozzarella, fish and meat delicacies, extra virgin olive oil, wine, but also the Basilica of St. Nicholas, the trulli of Alberobello, Castel del Monte, the stones of Matera, landscapes, ancient cities, the mediterranean breeze and so much more.


FIRST DAY

(Welcome day)

Overnight staying at Bari Hotel 4*

  • Arrival of the participants at the International Airport “Karol Wojtyla” in Bari and transfer from the airport to the hotel resort destination.
  • Acommodation in hotel, check-in, welcome drink, dinner and overnight..

SECOND DAY

(St Nicholas day)

Overnight staying at Bari Hotel*

  • Breakfast at the Hotel
  • Guided tour in Bari: to the famous and imposing Basilica of St. Nicholas, the place where the churches of East and West meet, guardian of the relics of St. Nicholas of Mira accompanied by the majestic presence of the Castle of Frederick II of Swabia, the alleys of the old city between symbolic traces of stucco decorations and Baroque and prominent Romanesque buildings such as the Cathedral of San Sabino, the Petruzzelli theater recently renovated, the wall and the lovely promenade.
  • Lunch at a typical restaurant in Bari (extra)
  • Transfer to the mall outlet for the shopping and Amusement Park. Free time for shopping or leisure activities. Ability to purchase the biggest and most famous names in Italian fashion at affordable prices.
  • Return to the hotel.

THIRD DAY

(Itria Valley Day)

Overnight staying at Bari Hotel 4*

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.
  • A hike through the monumental Trulli of Alberobello. Picturesque and agricultural center consists largely of trulli, which give, in addition to a vague fairytale atmosphere, considerable architectural interest recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO. In Alberobello alone there are over 1,500 trulli of various types. Shopping in the quaint shops shaped trulli.
  • Lunch at a typical restaurant (extra)
  • Trip to Castellana Caves remarked mostly for the Karst Complex of Caves, among the most largest and suggestive of Europe. Discovered in 1938, the Caves offer a lovely speleological scenario made of stalactites, stalagmites, tunnels and chambers of which the famous White Cave is the best example.
  • Moving on from the excavations of Egnatia you reach the historic center of Polignano a Mare, a charming city overlooking the crystal clear water.
  • Return to the hotel.

FOURTH DAY

(Bread and Focaccia day)

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.
  • Guided tour to Matera declarated World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1993, has been called unique in the world for its configuration and its landscapes so conflicting. It’s the city of caves,of the Entrenched villages, of the peasant houses carved into rock,of the rock churches with frescos, of the great Romanesque Apulian and Baroque churches and of the important Palazzotti that belonged to noble men. It’s the city that reminds of, geologically speaking, the antique Jerusalem and Cappadocia. It was the destination of so many people and their masterpieces, but it continues to be the destination of some of th most famous actors and directors,that found in Matera the right place to shoot their films, Mel Gibson that shot his masterpiece “The passions of Christ” in Matera, says: Basically the first time i saw Matera i almost lost my mind because it was simply perfect!
  • Lunch at local restaurant with the tasting of the typical bread of Matera (extra).
  • Trip to Altamura, the city of bread. You get to visit a workshop for the production of bread and bakery goods,bagels,bread sticks and focaccia, where the manual preparation of the dough and leavening is being explained.
  • You can taste warm bread and focaccia, fresh out the oven.
  • Return to the hotel.

FIFTH DAY

(Mozzarella, Pasta ed Olio day)

Overnight staying in the Northern area of Bari hotel/masseria 4*

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Trip to a dairy farm that produces cheese, during the visit you can witness the making of mozzarella and bocconcini, typical product from this area. Tasting of fresh and mature cheeses.
  • Trip to a handicraft factory, known for the production of fresh pasta. It’s purely and artisanal production and family business. The dough is hand made with eggs, flour and water that comes flattened with a rolling pin on a wooden table. You get a chance to join the preparation of the dough and preparing sheets from which they obtain the type of pasta you prefer, from noodles to orecchiette from Bari.
  • Trip to a local farm, with adjoining mill craft, known for the excellent quality of the oil produced. The owner will take us to visit the company and the mill, explaining us how to recognize and savor good extra virgin olive oil. Included sampling of oil, croutons, bruschette and olves.
  • Cooking lesson in the mill and after you get to meet the chef that’s cooking lunch (included).
  • Trip to the city of Trani, visit the most famous cathedral also known as the “Queen of Cathedrals of Puglia”, built in honor of St.Nicholas the Pilgrim, the magnificent Svevo Castle directly along the sea, the Jewish Church, the Church of All Saints,the courts located in the historic Court Hall, the beautiful church of Santa Teresa, which stands on the harbor, the Monsatery located in the peninsula of Colonna. Interesting are the Municipal Gardens along the coast with its pine and oak trees,and finally the breath taking harbor with typical pub reastaurants, various shops and The Fort that is attached to the dock of the port.
  • Return to the hotel.

SIXTH DAY

(Wine & Cooking day)

Overnight staying in the Northern area of Bari hotel/masseria 4*

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Cooking class, a meeting with the chef to prepare specialties from Puglia.
  • Trip to renowned Wine Cellar of Northern Bari. Visit the Company. Meeting with sommelier. Overview: traditional grape varieties of the region, grape import and new trends, the traditional DOC appellations, the historical production figures. Wine tasting accompanied by small croutons and bagels from Puglia.
  • Then transfer to Castel del Monte.
  • Lunch in a typical farm in the Castel del Monte area (extra).
  • A lovely trip to Castel del Monte (UNESCO), the most mysterious of the buildings built by Frederick II of Swabia around 1240. Octagonal in shape from one side represents a rigorous architectural scheme and on the other side recalls mystical and symbolic aspects. Added to the list of National Italian Monuments in 1936 and on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1996. The mysteries of this castle will not fail to charm and seduce you.
  • After all this you’ll go on another trip, this time to Barletta, where you have the chance to see the majestic medieval castle – a Renaissance architectural result of a series of variants due to the succession of dynasties in power, successive from the eleventh to the eighteenth century,visits to the Romanesque Gothic Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the impressive early Christian underground, the Cellar of the Challenge and the historic center.
  • Return to the hotel.
