Self catering farmhouse cottage on Andalucian finca
Written By Admin
The self catering accommodation is full of character, spacious and with modern amenities. There is a fully equipped kitchen and outside has the benefit of two very private terraces to greet the morning sun with a cup of tea or coffee and toast the last rays with a glass of wine. There is Freeview Satellite TV and free laptop with Wireless Broadband.
The mountain views are truly panoramic and on a clear day include the Mediterranean sea. There is a swimming pool to cool off on those very hot days or just pick a shady spot to read a book, sip a glass of wine or take in the views. For the more active there are moderate self guided mountain walks right outside the entrance to the finca.
Lubrin pueblo is just short 5 minute walk away, only 45 minutes inland from the Costa del Almeria and is a typical Andalucian village with its narrow streets, white washed village houses adorned with bright geraniums and bougainvillea and its endless sunshine. Not forgetting the charming villagers of Lubrin that provide for all the basic holiday necessities and includes 2 Supermarkets, 2 Bakers, 2 Butchers, Bank with ATM machine, Post Office, 3 Restaurants and numerous Tapas Bars where you can get a Menu del Dias for just €10 (including a bottle of wine for two).
The accommodation is conveniently located for exploring Almeria with its diverse and dramatic landscapes, isolated villages and romantic beaches and coves. Many guests are seduced into a day trip to Granada to marvel at the wonderful Alhambra.
From November to April, guests are offered self guided walking and mountain biking in the adjacent foothills of the Sierra Filabres. Walkers are provided with customised pocket guide booklets of several circular, moderate walks that commence from outside the finca and end up in the village for beer or wine and tapas.
Spend a day on a mountain bike on a number of self guided circular routes in the quiet of the mountains and valleys. All routes end back in the village for beer or wine and tapas. There are customised route maps and mountain bikes can be hired from the village for just €25 per day ( including helmet) and the Cortijo has a large garden shed for storing the bikes at night.
Beginners and accomplished painters (minimum 2 persons) can spend a day with our local artist, at a cost of €50 per person (easels and materials included). Idyllic painting locations in the nooks and crannies of an authentic Spanish village or in a beautiful, surreal mountain landscape covered in almond & olive groves, abandoned fincas and pastures of rosemary, thyme and sage.
