The Tanzania photo safari itinerary visit the spectacular and understandably popular destinations of the Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara National Parks. The trip includes two cultural discovery days where you can find out about the way of life of the people living here. Many tourists pass through these areas leaving only a cloud of dust, but with the unique Africa VIP Travel connections we will enjoy some of the local culture. Our goal is to enrich your experience of this part of Africa and ensure more of the benefits of tourism reach the locals directly.
Day 1 – Arrival Day
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met by a car and transferred to Dik Dik Hotel near the town of Arusha for the night. BLD
DAY 2 – Lake Manyara game drive
Drive to Lake Manyara for lunch, (approximately 2 1/2 hrs) and then enjoy an afternoon game drive around Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous for the bird life around the soda lake – flamingos in particular, and is home to unusual tree climbing lions and also known as home of primates. In addition it also has a large elephant population. You will stay overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. BLD
DAY 3 – Serengeti game drive
Drive to Serengeti National Park picnic lunch on the way, and then enjoy a late afternoon game drive. You will find the Serengeti to be endless rolling grasslands criss-crossed with shallow forested valleys, a virtual play home to millions of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and a number of larger predators, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife vistas. We will enjoy dinner and overnight at the private wilderness mobile luxury camp. BLD
DAY 4 – Serengeti game drive
Enjoy a full day game drive and lunch in the Serengeti National Park, with dinner and overnight at the private wilderness mobile luxury camp. BLD
DAY 5 – Serengeti game drive
Enjoy our second full day in the Serengeti National Park enjoying the beauty of the park and its restless creatures. We will again enjoy dinner and overnight at the private wilderness mobile luxury camp. BLD
DAY 6 – Serengeti/Oldupai Gorge/Ngorongoro
Drive to Ngorongoro for lunch (approx. 4hr) via Oldupai gorge, visiting a historic museum where what is believed to be the first human skull was discovered. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure with dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. BLD
Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater game drive
We descend into the crater for a full day tour in the crater including a picnic lunch. You will find Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano creating an incredible natural amphitheater teeming with all of the African big game. That evening we enjoy our dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. BLD
Day 8 – Tarangire game drive
Ngorongoro to Tarangire. Distance: 150 km (2 hours)
In the morning after breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy lunch and then a late afternoon game drive in the park. You will find early morning and late afternoon are the best times to observe birds and animals. During the heat of the day much of the wildlife rest under cover. You should look under trees and bushes for the pricking ears of animals raising their heads. Also watch in the trees for the dangling tail of a leopard as it lies on a branch. One of the most striking features of this park is the majestic, old baobab trees. With their massive silvery trunks, spindly branches and gourd-like fruits, they are Strange and impressive trees. Tarangire is also the home of a large number of elephants and bird-life. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the Luxury Tarangire River Tented Lodge. BLD
Day 9 – Tarangire game drive
Tarangire Day Two:
A Full day game drives in Tarangire where it is possible to see the rare fringe-eared Oryx. Enjoy lunch either on the safari or back at camp. Later we will have dinner and overnight at the Luxury Tarangire River Tented Lodge. BLD
Day 10 – Tarangire/Arusha/fly out
Tarangire – Arusha.
Distance 120 km (3 hour) After breakfast, drive out with game viewing on our return to Arusha. Arrive for lunch while your day room is prepared at Dik Dik Hotel and dinner before your flight back home or extension for Zanzibar. (Transport to the airport is included). BLD
