WHAT: The tour takes you on a journey through Salvador’s colourful and sometimes dark history. It’s both informative and fun. The tour is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the first capital of Brazil. Socialize with other travelers and discover Salvador’s history from its beginnings. The tour is gay-friendly, pet-friendly, kids-friendly, adults-friendly and just friendly. We seek for the city’s beauty, sometimes neglected and forgotten here, details are important, shadows, architecture and urban poetics.
WHY: We care about smart and socially conscious tourism; – deep immersion into culture and respectful approach; – meditation on urban space; – no simplifications and easy answers; – studying and discovering with pleasure; – searching for details and hidden beauty.
WHERE: This 2-2½-hours tour starts on the entrance to Memorial da Câmara Municipal on Tomé de Souza square at 3pm
sharp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (check the MAP
). Sunny or rainy, 2 or 20 participants – we go anyway.
COST: Although not compulsory, tipping is expected and is an expression of your satisfaction. It may not be customary to you but it is of considerable significance to the people who have assisted you throughout your tour. We recommend a tip of R$25 per person.
YOU’LL NEED: a bottle of water, snack money, a pair of walking shoes, sunglasses, a cap, a money belt for your phone etc
