Catlins – The Catlins is an amazing “lost world” where beech and podocarp rainforest with abundant native bird-life still extends from hill tops to the coast. “Hunting” for New Zealand sea lion, fur seal and the Hector’s dolphin. Cathedral Caves adventure on Waipati Beach!

Day1. Auckland – Auckland’s wild West Coast with its soaring cliffs, roaring surf and stunning black sand beaches is the place to see! (included*) Have fun on spectacular black-sand beaches, hike in subtropical rainforest and unique indigenous fora and fauna! Travel to Arataki Centre (included*) perched high on the ridge of the Waitakere Ranges and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views extending from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Be amazed amongst the giant 1000 years old famous New Zealand kauri trees.
Day 6. Rotorua- is the place of skyrocketing geysers, hot springs and boiling mud pools. No visit to New Zealand would be complete without stopping here. This city, on the Volcanic Plateau, has one of the world’s most lively fields of geothermal activity and sits squarely on the Pacific Rim of Fire. Visit Wai O’Tapu thermal wonderland, New Zealand’s most colorful and diverse geothermal experience! (included*) Plunge into the natural hot springs where a cold and a hot river flows together… you choose your water temperature as you move around!… (included*)
Day 3. Coromandel – Take a plunge of the pristine beaches and experience Hot Water Beach where you can dig up your own persona spa pool in the sand and lay back with the water fills up and the steam warms the pool (included*). Cathedral Cove Walk (included*): There are several scenic tracks adjacent to the reserve, including the 2hr return walk to Cathedral Cove track, which gives access to Gemstone Bay, Mares Leg and Cathedral Cove. This reserve boasts some of New Zealand’s most spectacular coastal scenery. Offers snorkeling opportunity in marine reserve and beautiful sandy beaches at Cathedral Cove.
Day 4. Travel across the beautiful Coromandel Ranges back to Auckland and take the flight to Nelson – South Island (included*). The flight passing the snow covered volcanic peak of Mt Taranaki. Nelson is the sunniest city in New Zealand. Perhaps it’s the sun, perhaps it’s the location, but Nelson has long been a magnet for creative people. There are more than 350 working artists and living in Nelson, traditional, contemporary and Maori. Visit their studios and find a unique piece to take home with you.
Day 5. Punakaiki (included*) – it is best known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes – both of which are spectacular and a must-see when visiting the West Coast. Punakaiki is the center for the Paparoa National Park – 30,000 ha of varied landscape from lush West Coast native rainforest and mountain tops, to expansive rugged beaches and coastline. Walk one of the many sub-tropical rainforest and coastal tracks. Explore one of the many unspoilt deserted beaches. Sunset and camp fire on the beach!
Day 6. Franz Josef Glacier – The Franz Josef Glacier offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience a dynamic glacial environment, in a temperate environment. (included*) Lakes, rainforests, surging waterfalls and the glacial rivers of ice mean that the area is an adventure destination that is ready to be explored! One way to explore is the heli flight. (optional**$225pp) An other way is to walk up to the glacier lookout (included*) or even to the glacier itself. Or take one of the many tracks in to the depth of lush rainforest… At night take your torch and go for for glow-worm “hunting”. This walk is great fun and highly recommended! It leads through virgin lowland rainforests to visit the amazing Glow-worms! (included*)
Day 7. Travel along the beautiful West Coast. (included*) Stop over at the most remote places in New Zealand. Take the swamp walk in the 2000 years old swamp-forest. Jade hunting on the beach! Touch the cold and roaring Tasman Sea… The Wild New Zealand West Coast is magical! Haast pass and Wanaka – The crystal clear waters of lakes and rivers, the fresh mountain air, the stunning alpine views at each turn, nestled below towering mountains, Wanaka is the most tranquilly set of the South Island lakes. (included*)
Day 8. Queenstown – it is often referred to as The Adventure Capitol of the World, with adrenalin-junkies thriving on a myriad of activities, including jet-boating, bungy jumping, rafting, paragliding and alpine skiing. (optional** booking and prices on request) A sightseeing tour is a must. (included*) Visit Kawarau Bridge – the World home of Bungy! (included*) Est. 1988 All we know is that AJ Hackett Bungy pioneered this crazy adrenalin activity called Bungy Jumping. Over 20 years later AJ Hackett Bungy is still delivering amazing Queenstown experience with 100% safety record!
Day 9. Milford Sound – Milford Sound is incredibly grand. It is truly spectacular. Visitors are drawn by the spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 meters or more from the sea, lush rain forests clinging precariously to the cliffs, and the seals, penguins and dolphins that frequent the waters. With 182 days of rain every year, Milford Sound is one of the wettest places in the world, however the rain creates stunning treats for visitors with dozens of temporary waterfalls created both at Milford Sound and along the Milford Road.The Milford Road is a stunning alpine drive. Numerous viewing points and short-long walking opportunities en route, provide a chance to get out of the car and drink in the spectacular scenery and the sheer scale of the landscape. (included*) Milford Sound Scenic Cruises is highly recommended, cruise the full length (15 kilometers!) of the fiord on board one of the spacious, modern vessels. (included*)
Day 10-11. Catlins (all activities are included*) – Scenic travel from Christchurch. The Catlins is an amazing “lost world” . It is rugged, remote and endowed with large tracts of native rainforest. It has abundant wildlife, is sparsely populated and is very scenic and unspoilt. Here, close to the rich Sub-Antarctic feeding grounds, can be found some of the world’s rarest marine animals – also are the seabirds: Mollymawks, Shags, Gannets and millions of Titi. Varieties of sea birds are prolific and you may see (but must hear!) the forest-dwelling birds tui, bell-bird, fantail, native pigeon and the rare mohua. You may also be fortunate enough to observe yellow-eyed penguins. “Hunting” for New Zealand sea lion, fur seal and the Hector’s dolphin! Cathedral Caves adventure on Waipati Beach! These grand imposing caves are soar to more than 30 meters overhead. Take your flashlight as they interconnect in total darkness almost 100 meters inside the main entrance. The shy native blue penguins and rare but curious blinking large-eyed fur seals are often seen in the total darkness far back in the recesses of these caves. The walk passes through the podocarp and kamahi forest of the Waipati Beach Scenic Reserve. The caves can only be reached for an hour, either side of low tide.
Day 12. Scenic drive to the beautiful Christchurch – sightseeing. (included*)
